Default Zombieland

Wife and I rode over to the Movie Tavern last night to see Zombieland.
Two human thumbs, and five zombie thumbs, up! Great cameo appearance by a classic comedian. Could have been a little grosser for my taste, but a bucket 'o fun.

I was thinking that this was one of those movies were all the good/funny parts were all on the trailer.

The movie critic for our newspaper gave this movie a good review and he is notoriously hard on movies. I rarely agree with his column but if he said this is good I'd probably really like it. Still, I'll wait for the DVD. I hardly go to the theatre anymore cause I'm fed up with people who won't shut up, use their crackberry, cell phone blah, blah, blah....

It was the best zombie movie I'd ever seen. Well, well done.

That's saying a lot. "28 Days Later" and "Shaun of the Dead" are pretty tough to beat. Of course, the original black and white "Night of the Living Dead", though a bit dated now, is a classic.

Of course, that's assuming you've seen those...

I own Night of the Living Dead (80s remake), seen the original, and own Dawn of the Dead (Romero's, not the remake). I also own Astro Zombies (yeah, the one the Misfits song is based on) Seen 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, Shaun of the Dead and tons of others. I'd say Zombieland is in the top 5. I still like Planet Terror (even thought they're kind of mutant zombies), and the 80s Night of the Living Dead best.

I was worried that it would really suck. Most of the time when they really push a movie like they've been pushing Zombieland it sucks. That's actually by plan.

Because the reels for movies cost a lot of money, if a movie is really good they'll open it small and build it up to pay for the reels. However if they make a movie they know will be a stinker they spend the money on lots of reels so they can open it up gangbusters and make as much money as they can quickly before word of mouth gets out.

As much as they're pushing Zombieland and Informant I was thinking that they'd both suck.

I love a good Zombie flick but dang! I heard all of the buzz about a cameo appearance and for some reason I naturally assumed it would be Ash (Bruce Campbell's character from the Evil Dead series).

I loved the cameo. Cracked me up!

Bruce is busy with some TV show isn't he? I still need to get the Evil Dead on DVD.

I'm all up to see this movie. How can anyone not love the combination of zombies and humour? It's better than peanut butter and chocolate.

We watched Shaun of the Dead again last night, for the umpteenth time, just to get in the right frame of mind.
