Not trying to start anything but it just amuses me. Go to google and type in "H1N1 conspiracy theories" and go nuts. I'm not an expert either even though personally 4+ years in the medical field and including family members 40+ years in the field.

Haven't read them all but I particularly like the one where it's a genetically engineered combination of avian and swine flu designed to kill off individuals with specific genetic patterns.

Unlike cold and flu viruses, polio doesn't alter itself to grow stronger as we fight it. The flu virus itself actually builds up an immunity to our vaccinations. That's why the previous vaccine doesn't work. It's also why the current one doesn't always work: it's based off the old version of the virus, not what's currently going around. It's also why we have these "super flu" viruses that are only going to become more common as the years go by. Instead of allowing our much more effective natural long term immunity to combat the viruses, we essentially suppress it for the short term gain of protecting us now. The problem is, down the road, we get into trouble because we've allowed ourselves to become so dependent on these vaccines for things that we have no cure for (there is no cure for the flu, just like with other viruses) that we can no longer fight it off when the vaccine doesn't work. For what it's worth, I also have grave concerns with the overuse of anti-bacterial agents. We use this stuff in everything, to the point where we run the potential of not being able to build up a natural immunity in the first place. Our immune systems work by learning to fight viruses. If we kill them all before we can be exposed, that one little lapse in the routine is going to hit you hard. So, I wash my hands regularly and keep my fingers out of places with mucus membranes, but I don't use all those anti-bacterial wipes and hand cleaners. Yes, I realize pretty much every soap has that stuff in it, but I avoid using it continuously. You can't fight what you haven't been exposed to. BTW: in reference to the "healthy" kid that died from H1N1, I do have to say one thing: there's a difference between "healthy" and having a strong immune system. The kid may have only been healthy due to lack of any real exposure to the virus. So, the first time he encountered it, it probably hit him hard. Last edited by CTRider : 3 Weeks Ago at 11:19 AM. |

Correct. It was a big killer during WW1, again in the early 50's, which is why they think people who were born between about 1945 and 1955 have some immunity, there was a big scare in the 70's, caused primarily by deaths associated with a rushed vaccine (sound familiar) and the current mutation. The actual strain has changed since WW1 but it is still being identified as A/H1N1 or swine flu.

I am not *healthy* by most doctor's definition. I have no cartilage in my knees, I have a *dent* in my spine, I have abdominal cysts that like to rupture (very painful) and fill my abdomen with fluid... I have chronic migraines, I have poor eyesight, I have ADD and OCD... I have osteo-arthritis in my hands and feet... I've been walking on a multi-fractured foot for almost 2 years now... I have plantar fasciitus in both feet... I have poly-cystic ovarian syndrome and cervical cancer... I have stomach ulcers...I am deaf in one ear...
*BUT*... lol... I have a strong immunity. I rarely get colds or the flu or viral/bacterial infections. I can't remember the last time I got the flu, or a 24 hour bug. Its been literally years. I am NOT a chronic handwasher. Neither is my son, who also rarely gets sick, but is not considered healthy by doctors. He was in the NICU as a baby, had a hole in his heart, jaundice, and to date still suffers with gastro-intestinal disorder, ADD, central auditory disorder, and now being tested for aspergers. *BUT*... he rarely is sick. There definitely is a difference between being *healthy* and having a strong immunity. |

Ya know, people could take a look at the facts and fairly easily see that this vaccine isn't all it is touted to be. Yet when evidence is presented about a legitimate and harmful side-effect, we get the black helicopter speech. It's just plain ignorant. This is a very common tactic used by lawyers. I think most would agree that the tactic is chickenshat misdirection.

My job has offered the flu shot for a long time and I never ever get the shot. Have had the flu a time or two and just turned 50 years old a few months back. Personally I believe in letting your body build up it's own defense. Not knocking anyone that gets the flu shot as that is up to the individual.
