a couple years ago while headed home, the road to my neighborhood was closed with cops on every corner and choppers in the sky. i knew something bad had just happened. after searching for info online, i found that Danny Oates had been killed by a driver texting while under the influence of xanax and vicodin and who knows what else.

driving past the point of impact everyday, it is a constant reminder of how fragile we are and how our existence can end suddenly. hug your kids and other loved ones everyday. tell them you love them, too.

bet the driver's family gave up on him a long time ago. regardless, he'll be home for Christmas before you know it. however, the Oates family will never see Danny again. Ever.

Defense attorney Scott Well said his client took the verdict and handled the court process "like a man."

And for the next few years he'll be taking it like a b***h in state prison. Good riddance.
