Default Bureaucracy STINKS!!!

So, I went by the NC License Bureau today to get the title transferred on the new bike. Wanna guess how it went? The line was 15 people deep for the title transfer line. There was another line for paying fees and turning in plates that moved just fine. had 3 lovely ladies working that one. MY line, however, only had two women working it, the line was longer (isn't that always the way it is?), and it took FOREVER for them to process each person!

It's a good thing I got to ride my bike today!!!!!

Eat chili before you go........it has a way of thinning the line.

Long lines etc., I can't begin to tell you how much I like living in a very rural area and only small towns nearby.

But when I used to live in Albuquerque it was like as you describe. And when it came to getting anything done at the motor vehicle department the best tactic I found was to show up about 10 minutes before closing time. That lazy bunch will put the rush on things so they don't have to work even 1 minute past quitting time...lol.

try it in Hawaii...the rule of three applies....three times to visit the DMV before you get what you need (or any license bureau fo rthat matter)

In Maryland the rule is go early, go often. Eventually you get to speak with an idiot at the counter.

Dave, Dave, Dave. Did you look to see if it could have been done online? I always check these days, anything to avoid the tag or license stores. Wasn't too bad Thursday tho, had to go in to renew my license. 30 minutes, in and out. But I got there really early too.

This spring we went were working in western IA so we just went over to Tyndall, SD, the country seat to pick up our new tags well stickers. It was the first time I have had seen anyone else in the county treasurer office when I stopped in. After that I went over to Yankton to get new license, I think I had to wait all of 5 mn. You live in the wrong place.

Russ, you are overlooking the obvious....if he had done it online he would not have been able to look at the lovely ladies. Now when have you ever known NCDave to pass up an opportunity to look at lovely ladies??

Funny you should mention. I was thinking that while standing in line. I always pay my registration and taxes online, but I am going to check on the title work. Seems I do a LOT of titles these days. This is the third one this year!

Yes, but they weren't agencies that dealt with the public.

Be very thankful that you do NOT live in the Birmingham area - specifically Jefferson County. The crooks (that are still in office) managed to sink the county into so much debt, that they've laid off tons of their workers. And guess what - lines at the DMV went from LONG to impossibly long. Now it's like 6-8 hours to get your new tags. Makes you want to NEVER buy a vehicle. You can still mail in your renewals though, so I'm safe for awhile. Maybe I can retire someday and move away.

Did I mention that 'Public hangings' are being considered for certain crimes?

As for good looking women at the DMV - I saw 1 once - and it's the only time I was thankful that the process took so long. My absolute best experience at the DMV.
