Default Road Construction Awareness

Hard to come up with a subject line, but my question is this . . . where would I go to get action about the roads in my municipality?

I understand that the city planner might be a good start, but my more broad question relates to the legality/safety of the riders during road construction. Is there an agency or Political organization that might be related to this topic.

I thought about contacting some local 'biker lawyers' but thought that I might ask here first. I am interested enough to follow through legally if possible or necessary. Road construction is very dangerous for us as bikers and someone should be able to listen to our gripes/grievances.

Thanks in advance for any information . . .

Road construction is inherently dangerous, bikers as well as drivers need to learn to slow down to a safe speed for the road conditions. To make construction zones super safe would drive the cost of construction up and also likely lengthen the time that the construction takes to complete. If a driver or rider is paying attention, there is adequate signing to give advance warning of road conditions.

Most of the time I would agree. It seems lately, at least around our 'berg, the road lanes have different heights and as a motorcyclist you are locked into straddling that height difference at many different angles.

The road crews have also learned a new trick. They 'erase' the lane markers by grinding/shaving the paint away, again creating lane height differences and it seems they have a new guy on the crew as he doesn't erase in a straight line!

I'm sure that many of you have had worse encounters, but there has to be some way to make safe construction zones.
