Default Too Funny!!!!

Hey ya'll! I was on the way home for lunch and saw something that is just too funny to believe! I noticed a motorcycle on the side of the highway about a 1/2 mile past an intersection. No foolin', it was a new Harley FatBoy, and a beautiful bike it was. Well, being the nice guy I am, I decided to see if the guy needed some help or wanted to use my cell phone - you know, just tryin' to help a borther out. I turned around at a cut-through and headed back south, then back north and pulled in behind the bike. The guy was kneeled down beside the bike as I approached him. He was wearing a beanie helmet, leather vest with the HD emblem on back and patches all over it, and jeans with holes in them. "Need some help?" I asked. "Yeah, she just quit on me - can't figure out whats wrong! She ain't gettin' any fire!" I asked him if he wanted to use my cell phone to call someone. He said "Yeah, I'm gonna call the da*n dealer - I just bought this bike less than a month ago and they can come pick it up and fix it!" I gave him the phone and he called them.

I was admiring the bike - like I said, it was a pretty thing. We stood around talking a bit. I told him about my 1500, he told me about his old bike he traded for the FatBoy, etc. It was starting to really get hot as there was not shade at all, so the guy took off his leather vest and laid it across his bike. When he turned around the back of his shirt read "I'd rather PUSH my Harley than ride a da*n rice burner!" Man, I could not contain myself - I busted a gut laughing so hard. "What's so funny, dude?" he asked. I said "Man, I'm sorry to laugh, but you must be a fortune teller, cause your shirt is right on target for your predicament!" He then remembered what his shirt said and took it off and put his vest back on. Even though he was obviously embarassed, he had to laugh too. About that time a policeman pulled in behind my car and said he would stay til the dealer got there to pick up him and the bike. He thanked me and I left.

I am still laughing about that one!! Ain't that called irony??

hahahahaha! What a hoot! I'd rather ride - then be out in the heat standing on the side of the road in leather all depressed about my $25000+ harley that won't run!

Bama that was funny. They sure are pretty bikes, Since I left my ride in AR. on the last trip i've been psending time doing other things . One is stopping by the HD dealer about a mile up the road an looking over the new dyna line with six speed tranny (mainly the new street bobber) , anyway after looking things over I came home an got a HD forum just to see what the Die hards are saying about the new Dyna. Come to find out there having a inner primary bearing problem already. There even having the new owners sign a waiver that they understand there's a problem. Here's a copy of what going around to the dealers. Just in case anyone thinks it's a hoax ,it's not I called the dealer up the street from me an ask the service manager about it. I can't believe they went ahead an put it on the market knowing full well there's a problem an these hard core riders think it's okay,an buy them anyway. NOTICE OF AMENDMENT TO OWNER’S MANUAL
2006 MODEL DYNATM MOTORCYCLES
Dear Customer:
In order to monitor the quality of our products, it has become customary in recent years for
Harley-Davidson to implement an Initial Care Program on any significant new product changes.
These programs are generally managed through the Company’s authorized dealers during the
motorcycle’s introduction period.
In keeping with this practice, Harley-Davidson implemented an Initial Care Program for the allnew
2006 model year Dyna motorcycles at the time of introduction. This program allows Harley-
Davidson to better monitor initial repair trends on this new motorcycle family and provide rapid
resolution to customer concerns. The Initial Care Program for the 2006 Dyna motorcycles differs
from the service interval information published in your owner’s manual:
♦ A lubricant change for the primary chain and transmission is now specified at
1,000 miles, and at every 5,000 miles thereafter, and
♦ An inner primary bearing replacement is required at 15,000-mile intervals.
Harley-Davidson has preliminarily determined the inner primary bearing on your 2006 Dyna
motorcycle will require replacement at 15,000 mile intervals. The bearing will be replaced by
your authorized Harley-Davidson dealer at 15,000 miles and at subsequent 15,000-mile intervals,
at no cost to you. This service requirement may change over time as we make improvements and
monitor repair trends on 2006 Dyna motorcycles. Your authorized Harley-Davidson dealer will
be your best source of any updates to this requirement.
Please acknowledge that you have read and understood these provisions regarding your new
Dyna motorcycle by signing below. We request that you keep your copy of this notification with
your Owner’s Manual so that you have it for future reference.

LMAO!!!!...

Bama...that's a classic for sure! Thanks for the laughs!

Woody...if memory serves me...didn't Jim tell us at Red Lodge that he knew of 4 brand new harleys (don't remember the models) that all had tranny problems...or something of that nature...and all 4 of them were sitting in a shop waiting for repairs...and that Harley Davidson was not going to cover them under warranty but instead was telling the owners that there was an upgrade for their bike and it would cost them $600.00 to have it put in? how sad is that for service and warranty work?

Your right Whistle ,but that doesn't have anything to do with this problem. The new dynas have a redesigned tranny wit a six speed. There mainly letting the customer be the guinie pig an see how it last.there may be a problem an there may not, only time will tell. Unfortunely it's on your time an money.

That's right...it was the bad cranks. Really a sad report no matter what the problem.
