Maybe it wasn't the greatest in the looks department, but it did have some punch to it. Stock, in factory trim, the Mustang GT was not able to outperform the Z28 Camaro until the 5.0L came out for 2011. The LS1 is a beast of an engine, period.

Besides, the aerodynamics of the car (yes, laughable, but still) enabled the Z28 to manage 26-ish mpg on the highway.

Having to fill up on premium gas, however, would definitely hurt the pocketbook.

BR, out here in the vast emptiness, you literally cannot get lost. Just remember time of day and how the sun travels, easy.

I-10 East all the way to I-65N, then I-65N to I-85N, then I-85N on home. Simple.

My current road car is the only vehicle I have ever owned that actually does perform better on gas mileage with premium. The difference pays for itself and then some.

I dunno where you're referencing, but premium gas here is $4.00 - $4.15/gallon. Regular is right around $3.85.

Eh? what do you drive these days, praytell?

Speaking of gas mileage, it's time to get a new air filter for the Rex.

I don't either, but I thought it was over $4/gal pretty much everywhere in the US now.

Regular is $1.30 per liter here. Dollar is pretty much on par, so it works out to be $4.92/gal

Gotta remember I was old"er" school back when there was actual specialization, board level training, and real programming knowledge. Plus, the old NavCenters were just, well, cool.

I picked up a Lexus last year after that Doe killed my Saab 9-5 Turbo. Not nearly as fun as the Saab but it works. The Saab aslo got me 31 mpg at highway plus a few speeds. It was a great car even with the maintenance issues. The Lexus is more like driving a sofa.

In TX and NM this week premium ran about $4.05/gal.

Speaking of the cb750. I had a major set back this week. My son helped me work, or rather force, the engine into the frame. It was all screwed up. So, back to the weld shop in OK it goes. I was just a little bit ****ed off. Here's the video of us "removing" the engine with the use of straps, blocks, and a 2 ton floor jack:
