Thumbs up 25 Years ago...Terry Fox Marathon Of Hope

Can it be that long ago now. I am not sure just how many people outside of Canada know of the name and person, but here at home, the name Terry Fox brings back a lot of memories.

Yesterday was the Terry Fox Run, as a kid in school years ago we all remember taking part.

In the hectic day to day bs that we all have to deal with, you sometimes forget about those few people, the one in a million type, who tried to beat the odds and really make a difference.

Man, it seems like yesterday that we were glued to the tv, watching as he tried to make his way across the country. And the sorrow we felt in September 1980 when he was finally forced to stop the Marathon Of Hope.

From someone who is dealing with the effects of cancer in our family as I type, I say thank you to all those who have ran over the years.

I was watching the movie they made the other night, and even though I wasn't born when Terry ran, I remember running the marathon for school..... years later I would really come to the terms of what the run meant when my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.....she's well now.... and I thank Terry and all the others who do what they can to help others.
