Default Life is good

The last 2 years have been financially rough in our house, with breaks coming far and few between.

Got a small windfall from my Mom, and it seems like things are getting better. I found 1 gig memory card that fits our MP3 player and camera for $25, a decent 4 mega pixal digital camera for $90, and got a new pair of glasses with clip-on sunglasses for $60. And have enough left over to fix my pick-up.

So many bad things happen to people on a daily basis that I thought I would post some good things. Feel free to add your "smokin deals, good things happened to me" things to this. It may not last as long as some other threads, but I want to hear about the good things that happen to people.

Good things?
I lost my job at Sony right after 9/11 and while I was feeling sorry for myself one Sunday morning over coffee and the paper, I came across a photo of a beautiful highschool grad wearing her mortorboard with a trans-fixing smile. Below that picture it said:
"God will heal me thru your prayers, I have brain Cancer." Life suddenly came full circle and in crystal clear perspective. I followed her story and read that same ad in the paper for 14 months. She died in February 03 and I went to her funeral and cried like a baby. Seems like God had a better idea for her, but he healed me instead!

Although I don't have tons of money, and certainly would not be considered wealthy, I can afford to go out for dinner when I want. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, and two children, both are healthy, and both do well in school. They for the most part understand those things that are really important. I am lucky enough to have a wife that induldged me when I wanted to by my Nomad. I feel very blessed.

Thanks for posting on this. Life gets kinda mean some days, and I have to think of things that are good. Visited a friend today that has more health problems than anyone deserves, and she always puts me in a good mood. Plus I got to ride down the highway at waaayyyyy over the speed limit and that got me all juked up too.

man, for all the things i think are going wrong in my life, there are ten more to be thankful for. i have a great job that allows me to provide for my loving family and also affords me the toys that i want. my wife is a wonderful person that i am thankful for every day. my two beautiful kids are healthy as can be and we have a great family life. and then there are the friends in my life, most of them on here.

+1 Mayo, if it weren't for this place, I'd be a less happy man.

*raises glass*

I just love you guys.

Yeah, that's what happened. Three guys, in black and red w/mountains in the background, I got confused, and of course I obviously can't be bothered to read.

Sorry for the confusion, but it doesn't matter, I love you both...and not just the 'I'm drunk so I love everybody' kind of love either.
