A girl on another forum posted this link a few weeks ago, and I'm positively addicted.
Did you move to your current location from another state? Still yearn for the radio station you grew up listening to? Well, this is the site for you!! http://www.thestreamcenter.com/ Streaming radio from all over the place, sortable/searchable by city, state, call letters and more. I'm so freakin' addicted to this site! All I listen to is 91X (alt-rock station I grew up listening to, out of San Diego, CA)... it's still every bit as great as it was back in the day... even better!!! I'm hearing the best of alt-stuff that's out now, as well as all sorts of new stuff I've never heard before (Florida radio SUCKS!)... Thom Yorke? Diggin' this stuff (it's on right now)... So what's your fave station? P.S. And yes, most stations offer streaming radio via their sites, but 1.) it's got about a 10 min delay, and 2.) some stuff (ads, etc...) is edited out... call me silly, but I LOVE hearing ads for local music fests, etc...

Radio Paradise. It's THE best station on the 'net, bar none. I've listened to quite a few, and Bill (the DJ) really knows his stuff.

Great site indeed to find stations from across the country. I admit, I'm obsessive compulsive with radios (read that: I channel change A LOT) so I've mostly given up on radio. Now it's about my i-Pod and finding albums that have been recommended to me.
But- I agree wholeheartedly Nee that the new Thom Yorke is fantastic. Radiohead is a personal favorite of mine, but I'm so happy to see that Yorke still appears to be advancing musically, lyrically, etc.. amazing stuff. |

Check out "pandora.com" as well. You type in what style of music you like - such as "Allman Brothers." They will play several "southern rock" groups in addition to Allman Brothers.
Very cool. I listen to it at work, when there are no kids around. |
