I've been working without a break all day, and I'll need to work tonight, too. Being out of the office for two and a half days really messed with your deadlines.

I'm down to 245 from 263 at the first of February. Now all my cycle jackets are too big.

I'm going to be doing housework all day today. And not light housework, either. So I figure I'll get a pretty good workout. Tomorrow I've set aside for riding. Man, it's really warm and beautiful here. Opening all the windows and doors shortly to get some fresh air. Yay!!!

Quit eating....

Well, actually - I simply controlled the portion size and stopped eating out for lunch. Cut my breakfast down to 1 egg (from 2), 1 piece of bread, and 2 slices of bacon. Took a TV dinner for lunch (I think they are called Healthy Choice) - at any rate the ones I ate all had 390 calories or less. Then had a light dinner and skipped the late night snacks. Oh - I added a 1 mile walk in the evenings to the 1 mile I was already taking in the morning.

Side benefit - I probably saved $45 a week in lunch money.

What a great idea for a thread. I just discovered it earlier this evening and am hooked. I started trying to loose some weight about six weeks ago with some success..down 4 lbs. In the past, the same time period would probably had me loosing closer to 10 - 15 lbs...but guess the added age makes a difference. Anyway, this time I do notice that I am lacking some will power, I'll have a good couple of weeks, followed by a poor one. And that applies to my diet as well as exercise. Seems that it's easier to make excuses than to just do it!

Well after reading what all of you have posted and your experiences and the way you motivate each other...I put my computer down, got up off my lazy butt and went upstairs and did 30 min on the stationary bike. Had I not found this thread, I probably would have continued to just sit here and veg.

So with renewed inner strength I offer thanks to all of you for your posts, and especially to Julie for starting this thread.

You're welcome to join us in our trials, temptations, and miseries. As you've read, we're mostly trying to suck the motivation from one another to get off our butts and quit plugging the piehole with other-than-good-stuff.

Thus far this weekend, I've not done too badly. Friday I had a strawberry milkshake!! That's right boys and girls- I haven't had one in at least a year so I filled the blender with 1% milk and chucked in strawberries and about 4 icecubes. Man o man was that good!!! Not like the Dairy Queen ones of old but really good. Then Saturday came: 2 hot dogs. With slaw. And chili. And mayo. On white bread buns. But I stopped at two- I can usually eat 4. I was feeling guilty enough to add an extra 1/2 mile loop to the dog's field romp. I think she doesn't mind too much when I'm so weak.....

Good deal. My wife turned me on to the healthy choice french bread pizzas and I've been a fan of theirs ever since. and the Lean Cuisines are good too. And you prolly saved more than that. I noticed more money in the spare change jar each week when I started taking these things to work instead of eating out all the time.

I used to get home from work (midnight), plop down and munch. That one simple act of not munching at all before bed took several pounds off quickly.

Good for you!! Keep it up......you can do it.......

All-in-all I didn't do too badly this weekend. This week is the preliminary workup for vacation. I'm leaving Fri the 23rd and coming home Sun the 1st. Going to Myrtle Beach, SC for golf/biking/drinking, so I've started cleaning the clubs, polishing the chrome, etc. I am soooo looking forward to it- on the day I leave town I will have worked 61 days in a row!!

I've been really good the past week as far as following my diet/program (even when I was away from home with very limited food choices), but I fell off the exercise wagon last week. Being out of town for three days really did a number on my regular schedule. Thursday and Friday I never even took a break from work--I was that busy. Back to exercise today. I haven't lost any weight for a week now, which is OK because I haven't gained, either, but I'd sure like to see those numbers going down.
