I guess that's true. I do know that most atheletes continue to burn calories even at rest....which annoys me, but that's just my green with envy coming out.

As for recipes...

I'm gonna give it again:

http://www.sparkpeople.com

My gf and I choose our menu off of that site. People from all over post up recipes and such things, the people who run the site check them, measure calories, etc, and post them up.

Thank you! Actually, I checked it out when you posted it before. I have one frustration, though.....I don't follow the standard low fat diets. My body HATES carbs and I pick up weight FAST on those. I try to lower my carb intake and elevate my fat intake. I haven't figured out yet how to get those kinds of menus....maybe they don't offer that?

You are one funny man! I, too ate so much tuna I felt the same way! Any lean cuts of beef are fine, find a marinade that doesn't have a million calories, and soak the crap out of it.

The one thing that I did eat in moderation was almonds. A handful at a time curbs the munchies.

Being lazy by nature, I went out and bought a big thing of protein powder and blended up with skim milk and whatever fruit was handy. That was my snack in the afternoon. Throw Splenda in there too.

I also eat nuts for snacks! I like the almonds, peanuts, cashews, etc....
They are high in protein, but people watching fat have to be careful how much I guess.

Good tip on the protein powder drinks with fruit!

I would imagine that they do, somewhere in there. I'm not the expert on the site though, so I can't say for sure. I do know that they have every type of body imagineable trying to lose weight from there. I think you can do a search on it on the site.

I had ONE of the new chocolate covered mint ones yesterday. I still feel guilty about eating it, but it was soooooo good. And I stopped at one, so it kinda offsets the guilt a little.

To replace the pastas I was trying to remove from my daily intake, I rediscovered rice. Check out here http://www.mahatmarice.com/mahatmarice/

I actually had a McDonalds cheeseburger combo lastnight, nix the soda, go with the lemonade...the lemonade sucked, the burger was tasty and I only ate 1/2 my fries. no weight loss this morning but i felt satisfied in my little out of diet excursion

My "personal treat" day is usually on Sunday. I work 2nd shift, generally 7 days a week (have been for almost 2 yrs!) so to splurge I get a Subway sandwich, either tuna or roast chicken breast. And the store is 1.1 miles from the house, so I walk there and back. It comes out even......

And 1 more site where I've learned a lot about my bod (such as it is), labeling, carb vs. fat, better snacking, etc.

That is exactly what you need to do, weightraining and diet....high protein, low carbs and low fat will see the best results.
