Bross,

That BMW sure is a beautiful bike! I'm sure that it can tour without getting bogged down. Great looking set up for touring btw!

Don't feel bad jc, when I was 14 I wanted one of these so bad! They were the coolest thing on the planet.

What the heck was up with that?

I'm definitely not a kid anymore. For me, it's becoming more about comfort. Every day now, my dream bike moves closer to being a 'Wing....

That's the funny thing about wings, they must be designed for short people, cause they are very cramped for me and I'm only 6' tall with a 34" inseam so it's not like I'm really tall or anything. I just don't see how people find them comfortable because you get totally locked into one position and you can't move, forward, backwards and your feet are locked onto the pegs. Just won't find me on one anytime soon. But there are lots of very comfortable bikes out there for sure. I'm like you, I prefer the meanstreak without the windshield for the barebones ride, the view over the gauges, the wind blast etc. but man when it's cold like it has been, give me heated grips, seats and an electric windshield any day.

If money were no object I'd get a full blown custom. I can't really say what it would look like because it would be... well... totally customized. Probably more a pro-street style than chopper.

Definitely, at least you could ride it then.

American Iron Outlaw vs Texas Chopper any day.

Yes, I like the Outlaw very much. It's a nice looking bike. It even looks good with a backrest and passenger pillon on it.

Well, if Kawi still made the Voyager...

LOL, we knew we could pull you over to the dark side of old geezer bikes! (Like the Connie14 or Busa are geezer bikes.)

That's one thing you have to give the GoldWing though, is handling. A friend of mine had a Kawi Voyager that he dropped more times than I can count, it's just tall and heavy. He bought a gold wing and hasn't dropped it yet in almost two years, and he says it's really noticeable the difference. If he didn't stop the Voyageur perfectly vertical, and it started to go over, he just couldn't hold it. He doesn't have that problem on the wing.

Getting the time to ride can be a problem. I'm happy, but a GW with lots of time to ride is the ticket.

The early Wings were a bit top heavy, too. If the Voyager had evolved the way the Wing did, it would have that low stance to make it more stable.

On the other hand, look how long it took to redesign the Connie. Talk about top heavy...

If I could afford a few bikes to put in my hypothetical stable, the new Connie would be one. That, and a Norton Commando (with the sprung seat).

Damn you, bross. Damn you!!

JT, as far as the Concours goes, yeah, it's a nice selection to add to your dream bike collection. Although, I'd rather have the BMW anyday.

Actually, I also like a lot of Triumph's "modern classics" motorcycles. Such as the Thruxton:

*drool* I would get that in red for sure.
