Yeah, I'd totally buy that right now, except it's $7,999. I don't have the much money or experience to be riding a Thruxton. Maybe my second bike could be one. Omg, that would be sooo sweet. I'll definitely consider that x years from now. (x being the number of years I keep my 500R, which I've yet to purchase LOL)

Lightbulb So it's neo-retro you want?

How about a 400cc kickstart-only thumper with a rear drum brake? $4,088 at current exchange rates, plus whatever you have to do to import one. Those 18-inch rims will give you plenty of room to bling out with Spiffy Spokes.

That is sweet, I wish they'd bring some of these bikes over here, but they'd never sell.

I love the old school stuff. I need to find a nice old KZ and just restore it from the frame up. It may take me 10 years but what the heck. With my luck fossil fuels will be a thing of the past when I finally find and fix one up

That's how I feel about computers. By the time I build the computer I want with all the bells and whistles it's already obsolete. This happens every time I build. But it's still so much fun.

I built my wife a computer from the ground up and she used it for 3 months and wanted to upgrade. Just as soon as you get a new computer out of the box or plug that one you just built its obsolete. Technology just moves way too fast.

You say that as if it's a bad thing. I agree, though.

I just say it that way cause you never have time to enjoy what you got you have to go out and get the newest thing out there lol It gets expensive after a while.

I don't mind technology upgrades - what I hate is fundamental changes when an improvement would be more practical.

Case in point:

Why do we have Memory Stick and XD cards when SD cards were already a good standard in a nice compact form factor? They all do the same thing and have roughly the same capacities. Why not invest resources in improving performance and capacity and allow the format to propagate more fully. I don't mind the mini and micro SD cards so much because they have adapters to fit a standard SD card slot. If Fuji and Sony had worked toward enhancing SD technology instead of coming up with competing formats, we would have 10GB SD cards already.

The same deal goes for camcorders. Companies are always coming out with new digital formats when it always comes back to miniDV. It's a solid format. Why not work on ways to increase record times on the existing tapes and improve the features and image quality on cameras that use it? Instead, we end up with things like MiniDVD, SD, MicroMV, hard drive and digital 8mm.

It's frustrating at times.

True, but they might stumble upon a revolutionary new medium/technology in which they can make a whole new memory/camcorder that is much better than the current standard. They'll never find out if they don't experiment.

They can experiment all they want - just don't keep forcing us to buy it. My issue isn't with innovation - it's with derivative products for the sake of making a new product. Sony is the worst offender with this. When the new product does the exact same thing as the old, but requires me to buy yet another locked proprietary format - that's when I hate it.

As far as the memory cards are concerned I own an Olympus digital camera that takes CF cards which I have a number of. Its a very sturdy and reliable format. Now I want to "upgrade" to a new Olympus camera but the new ones all take the XD cards. So I agree with you on the subject on the cards. I also believe they make all these different ones to force us to buy their cards (speaking of Sony they don't have any generic cards you have to buy theirs) because they know we have some but if we want their camera we have to spend more money on their stuff.. Its all very frustrating.

and definatly the THRUXTON or the T100 both are very nice.

Oh, ok. I see what you guys mean now. Yeah, that kind of stuff can be frustrating. (In fact, I went to the store today to buy some replacement pencil erasers for a mechanical pencil. They, of course, don't sell those in any of the stores by me, so I was forced to buy a new product. Lame.)

And yes the T100 is HOTT!

I can see a change from CF to a smaller card - that's innovation. Annoying, but progress. However, Sd, XD and Memory Stick are all pretty much the same size - in fact, the original memory stick was bigger. That's just a money grab.
