Default morning update

ok folks heres the scoop lol well i still haven't passed it i got my medicine last night and took it so i was able to sleep. my back feels like someone has pounded me in the kidneys and it hurts to put any pressure on my right leg. funny thing is the stone is in my left kidney!! and im having all the pain in the right side lol i know im gonna be in for a rough day went to the bathroom earlier and there was the dreaded pink tinge to the tee tee
and my lower back is spasming some. and as for doing the sonic blasting thing i have to see a reg uroligist to have that done since i wasn't in my home town i will have to lay still for about 2 days no bouncing after that they said im hoping i can pass it though. i will check back often today and give progress reports thanks for all the well wishes

Kidney stones can be created by many different things. Too much calcium, not enough calcium, ad naseum.... When I had/have kidney stones, my urologist said to drink plenty of cranberry juice. And not the sugary sweet stuff that tastes good. If you catch the stone when it comes out, have them test it to see what it is made from so you can change your diet accordingly.

sad thing is i drink lots of water, and cranberry juice!! i like cranberry juice lol plus i take cranberry pills as a diet supplment. i had a really serious kidney and uti infection a couple of months ago. it was so bad i had to go through 3 rounds of antibotics and get off the truck for 3 weeks and stay at my sons house in texarkana. and we are gonna try and catch the little culprit. if we can that is. they say i might have to go and have it removed though and i hate that thought!

Depends on how they get it. On bigger stones, they use ultrasound to break it into smaller pieces. Then, you can pee them out. Or, they go in with a basket through the urethra and scoop them out. My brother and sister had them years ago and they had to do surgery to remove them. But, believe you me, when they are gone, you feel sooooo much better.

I've had 3. The first was the worst. It took a week to pass... A WEEK! The pain comes in waves (whenever it moves even a little bit, I suppose)... over, and over, and over, and over.

My wife gives me crap about the "as bad as giving birth" comparison. She's like, "There's no way it's as bad as giving brith." And I'm like, "Oh yeah? Well even if it's not quite as bad, you were in labor for 14 hours. I was in labor for a FRIGGIN WEEK!!"

Sure hope you feel better real soon.

My bestfriend's hubby is prone to having stones. Seems it runs in his fml. The last time he had it.. it was rather unexpected. They thought he was just getting sick from the flu bug. All those 'tummy' aches were getting at him, so my bestfriend kept giving him chinese herbal teas. Well, those foul tasting herbal teas made him pee the stones out. Geesh!! It was rather unexpected. After it plopped out.. they realized what it was and went to the doctor. Had some scans done.. and it seems he had pee'd them all out. haahah..

Another friend had laser treatment to blast them to bits. Hers were waaay large.

Anyway... hope yours pass real soon ..

You want to know why they hurt so bad? Imagine a cockle-bur the size "bb" going through the tube from your kidney to your bladder. That's what most small stones look like. It's like passing razor wire.

Default Over yet?

I hope you are over the stone stuff already! I quake just thinking about more!

I had the worst one along WITH gallstones. They actually hurt WORSE! The tube they go through is smaller and NOT as elastic. Had to finally have the gall bladder out.

Here' some samples of what you do NOT want to try and pass!!!!

romad, still no kidney stone!! and i feel like i have a kidney infection on top of the back pain and i know about the gallstones lol i had my gallbladder removed because of them 8 yrs ago. mine was big and full of stones and 2 was blocking the tube and getting really bad they did a emergency surgery on me then and stayed in the hospital for 2 days talked to my reg drs nurse and she says i need to get in to see a uroligist. seems like 6 mm is a stretch for me to pass lol its been almost a week and a half and no stone so they will have to do something. i will keep ya posted though thanks for asking!!

I went through it last year. It felt like I was hit in the back with a baseball bat. I have never been in so much pain in my life. If you have one that is 6 mm I pray it passes easy. they gave me some type of narcotic I think, i was high as a kite. Good thing cause i would have cut it out myself. The male nurse that was there told me that it was my right of passage or something. It's as close to giving birth as a guy can get. Good luck my good man !!

drink 2 oz extra virgin olive oil mixed with 2 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice, followed by a large glass of water before bed, it will help with the inflamation. you might feel like throwing up, hold it in. you will pass the stone with less pain.it worked for me, good luck!!!
