Default Mother's Day Gift Ideas Please!

Help! Quick!

I need some good ideas so I can go shopping tomorrow. It's actually for my wife, "from our newborn baby girl".

What she likes:
Chocolate
Jewelry (something more memorable than fancy)
Animals

What she doesn't like:
Dirty diapers
Red meat
When I put off doing my chores

Please help!

Thanks!!

The BEST gift I received after the birth of our son was a framed black and white photo with matting of me holding him in the hospital. It will always sit in our living room... it reminds me of that wonderful night each and every time I stop to look at it.

As for other ideas, jewelry is nice. I used to be a buyer for a nice jewelry shop in Seattle and there were quite a few local artists who did beautifully detailed 'lockets' and pendants of whatever photo you gave them.

Here's an example of some sterling silver jewelry ideas with lovely quotes that would be appropriate: Silver Jewelry at Something SilverŪ You can usually find these in local shops and boutiques and you should be able to find them in gold if that is what she prefers, too.

I did this for my wife when we had our new born. I had my son Aaron dip his feet in water paints and leave his foot prints on a paper then I used that paper as a back ground for a huge portrait of our son. Kinda like what Svetlana did.

My all-time favorite mothers day gift was 6 months of maid service. Second was an afternoon at a spa, for a massage, manicure/pedicure etc. The Spa thing is only fun for me if I get to go with a friend. You can't properly make fun of other people by yourself.

An electric vacuum is always well received by mom's. Also consider new cookware as I am doing this year.

If she has chores around the house, consider a new lawnmower too! Or at least a new trimmer!

You could take the kids out and give your wife a quiet day to herself at home.

My wife likes those.

Some one on one time at a nice restaurant. A hand-written note of love and appreciation is always welcome. Balloons and flowers are hard to beat as well. Above all let her know how much she is loved and adored. Tell her you will never leave her.

I thought of this but figured that it was too late, but as it turns out, our local framing place was able to do a 3 hour turnaround this afternoon, so I got it made! It's beautiful. Here's the picture that I used.

Thanks so much for the idea!

Oh, and I also got her a small box of Godiva chocolates. I may just give her the box of chocolates and say, "Sorry, this is all I was able to get for you." but then surprise her with the framed photo...
