A new museum is opening on June 6 at Payne Field in Everett Washington

Its the Paul Allan (co founder of Microsoft) personal collection of mostly fully restored aircraft from WWII. I am going to go check out this display eventually, might miss the opening weekend, crowds are expected.

Do you happen to know if the Fieseler Fi 156-C2 Storch is the German version of a short take-off/landing aircraft with extremely long landing gear? Saw a short video clip of one once but didn't catch the identifying letters.

Thanks for the heads up, Spok. I'll be there sometime in the next couple of weeks. Maybe I'll buy you a beer while I'm there.

Don't believe him.

Thanks for the info, Dave. Alan would be keen to do that if we have time during our July trip.

Me personally, it's the KI-43 that I'll be going up to see.

Major fan of WW2 Japanese aviation, here.

Hey Dave. Have you ever come down so Socal to view the collection at Planes Of Fame?

Another fun aviation museum - it you're in the Lincoln/Omaha NE area is the Strategic Air and Space museum. I was out that way on business a few weeks ago and spent a few hours there - fantastic!!

The Strategic Air and Space Museum

Two huge hangers filled with all the planes listed in the 'Exhibits' link including a B52 and a B1A

I have to go visit that one Dave, I'm a WWII buff..........I visited several plane wrecks after WWII that was shot down in my home country. One is a wreck of a british Halifax bomber, two ME 109 and a Dornier.

There is a Lacaster bomber museum in Nanton Alberta. It is amazing the battle damage they could take and keep flying. Oh, and only one pilot.

Ah my favorite plane of all time. The North American P-51D Mustang and I also love the Corsair that Pappy's Boyington's crews flew on Black Sheep Squadron.
