17 was the best age. Old enough to be able to get away with most things if you knew how to "bend" the rules, but typically were not held legally responsible. THOSE were the days.

Well scratch the downpayment thing I was denied lol don't know how but I luckily had a plan B I found a nice used bike for $750 so once i get my stimulus check I'll use that than get a loan from the loan company to finish it up lol. So hopefully that works out.

Your incident with the down payment probably sums up what is going to happen for me as well. I have someone with credit to help me but seeing as it's my first bike I somewhat wanted to do it on my own
And geeze 18 for the legal drinking age ? Here in california everyone just acts like it is ( but everyone starts at 16 anyway

Nope, no credit is a significant red flag... you have no established history to go on. You have to start building your credit before you can expect to get approved for a loan.

Hopefully the bike will still be available when you get the check. When is your stimulus check supposed to arrive? Surely you have time to save the money to make up the difference. Just get an envelope and put money in it every time you get paid. You do work, don't you? Don't say "No." That's a wrong answer. Not bustin your chops, but you're not a child any more. You've got the perfect opportunity to start off right, save and pay cash for stuff you want.

Yes, 18 years olds still drink here, the difference being that now they get arrested, fined, and even if they're nowhere near a car, they can lose their driver's license. It's been a long time since I was 18, but somehow getting drunk doesn't seem like it would be worth all that.
