Thumbs up A little different custom bike shop

While I am generally not a fan of these new cookie cutter "custom" choppers. (someone seems to have forgotten what custom means) you may want to take a peek at this custom shop.
The shop and the man are called Goldammer.
His shop is about 40 miles north of my home town. He has been quietly plugging away making some of the wildest looking, award winning customs out there.
He made the front end for that OCC Robot bike, and has been getting a lot of press with his old-school board tracker bike lately.
Take a look.

Outrageous! Really 'out-there' designs...

Wonder how they do the suspension on the billet front ends?

I've seen them somewhere before and you're right it's much more than a fender mod and some expensive chrome and paint.

Very nice, it looks as there was alot of thought and design that went into those bikes, unlike the cookie cutter bikes, that most everybody elso is building.

Some people get up on the wrong side of bed a lot, don't they?

Not that I feel the need to stick up for the Shop, But you need to take a closer look at the board-tracker to apprecite it. For one, it's not a hardtail.
I think it's beautiful, and unlike just about anything else I have seen out there.

I dunno, I just see so many "custom" choppers, all of them with PM wheels, S&S motors, and hardtail or faux-hardtail chassis. I live in a small town with a population of 6500 and it has a "custom" chopper shop.

They're all just so ordinary. Its the only kind of bike seen on TV these days. Is there no-one left with the imagionation or skill in our society to make a custom non-chopper? How about a custom sportbike, or maybe a bagger? My god, I'd even be happy to see a VW-powered trike every now and then, just to break the monotany of the "chopper".

I agree with you there Lycos, the term "custom chopper" has been applied to so many bike that it has now become the antithesis(sp?) of what it started uot to be.
We actually went to our local Show&Shine today. It was pretty much full of "custom choppers", raked out, side mount plates, huge rear tires. Some looked ok I geuss, as a novelty. But they all looked the same really. Now here is where it gets wierd, in the middle of all these build-a bikes looking very out of place is the exact Goldammer board tracker that I originally posted about. It looked fantastic, skinny little tires and all. It really stuck out from the rest.
So yes, I too would like to see more real "custom bikes". Like that Honda powered cafe racer that Jesse James built or something.

Got one here called Prozac that's a little different.
The owners are bike customisers who also happen to own a place called Gotham City. Perhaps there is a similarity between the two pastimes.
Sure explains why their display stand is always the most crowded at bikeshows.

That Goldammer's is wild!
Almost looks like they got the frame inspirations from old Schwinn bicycles LOL
Some awesome work though look more like art then ridable bike but then it shows them being ridden!

Wow! I was around back then. It's been so long now.

I've actually heard a few rumors that he is/was working on a custom V2K for someone.

Sweet bikes Carlo. I really dig choppers of all ilks, it's just the type of people that you usually see on them that turn me off..

Then again I'm that type of person, and if I saw myself cruising down the road on one I'd laugh at myself

Maybe it's just me, but I think they look really wild and would make great decorations. But they don't look very comfortable to ride for any distance and probably wouldn't corner well on these kiss you but turns we have here.
