Feel free to have that written out in calligraphy and framed to hang on the wall.

I don't like those kinds of jacks. I like racing jacks.

My mom used to work for a compay that involved driving 15 seat crew hauler vans through spike/nail infested railroad yards. Lets just say that I learned how to get the cheapest jack they could find under an overweighted van and get the tired changed in the middle of the Mojave Desert by the time I was 15 After this my mom went out and purchased a DECENT jack from Sears and now a tire change is a simple job Now it's not so threatening when she says "We can go there, but if we get a flat tire your changing it !"

Will agree with what was said above. No matter what his reaction was or how much you may of embarassed him, stopping was a good thing to do. Everyone learned something from the situation and if their relationship was strong then she'll let this hang over his head for MANY years to come

I am glad I am not the only one sharing that opinion.

My wife had to learn to change a tire and changer her own oil before she was allowed to get her begginer's permit. Granted, she is more mechanically inclined than many women I know, but not more so than most men. If any guy owns any vehicle, he should have the basic skills needed to get himself out of any jam. Not having learned this prior to driving anywhere tells me that his parents (yes mother and/ or father) neglected to TEACH him some very basic skills. This doesn't display simple ignorance to me, but a basic unwillingness to learn which is, by any measure, stupid.

Awesome points for stopping to help a cager. Good deed and it was handled very well IMO. Poor guy may just have learned a lesson that will stick and may some day save his life. (Be prepared)

Take care,
Robert

I missed the part in your story where the girl got on your bike and rode away with you. The story then later continues with, dear Penthouse.

In the old days of knights you would have had to kill that guy for being an idiot. Otherwise, stupidity runs amuck. Of course things were a bit simpler in days gone by.

I always look forward to your stories Alex.

You should have looked him in the eye and shouted "Doot di-doo" a la Carlos Mencia!

Had a 95 Escort and it was great for the first 70K. It then start to slowly fall apart. I decided to just let it blow up and didn't change the oil from that point on. Stupid thing went for another 40K without an oil change and was still running when I traded it in. Go figure.

All i can say is ****e happens people. Sometimes you look for something for an hour ( keys or sunglasses ) only to find them in your pocket or on your head. Anyone had that happen? Don't be so quick to judge the poor schmuck lest it happens to you someday. Same with the girl. In this day and age of equality, i'm surprised that she couldn't get it out it herself. Isn't she supposed to be able to do anything a man can do, except maybe write her name in the snow while taking a whiz? Kudo's to you for helping them out. Methinks i'd be dumping the wench if she had the nerve to get in my face about that.
