Funny for my IT DB friends...

OK this is totally true and the conversation happened completely off the cuff, this is completely original and funny if you are an IT nerd and understand DBs at all, feel free to add to add your own spin comments.

So I was talking to my friend while working on moving a database from MySQL to SQL Server 2k5, and frustrated by some of the special characters in the out put... I said to her in IM

"I have noticed that I having a harder time communicating to this database what I want than to women... and it has a predefined syntax for talking to it /boggle"

"Maybe I should swap to an object oriented database instead of a relational one... Then I could just buy it some flowers and maybe it would put out what I want it to!"

We laughed and laughed. Anyway I thought the rest of the nerds out there would think that it was funny too so I shared.

I am still wishing I could swap to an object oriented relationship with my wife. She puts out fine, but it's never what I want! lol

My queries seem to be misaligned with my requests because the DB seems to truncate every time I ask for something.


Yeah, I miss my IT job. I don't miss the I D 10 T's, but I miss the work.
