17 kids is just plain crazy. I watched it once, and seen some of the things they do to save money, but honestly those kids have to wear used clothing, shoes, etc. I would want better for my childeren than that. Okay with no sex before marriage, which I did not practice, but no kissing, c'mon! My guess is they are hamming it up for the cameras. I bet something goes on behind closed doors.

Saw part of that show once... It convinced me that there's something inherently wrong with the human mind.

I also wondered how, after the first 4 or 5 kids, they found time to make the next 12 or 13...

All I can figure is that they must work quick.


Oh and one last thing... If that ol' gal carried all of her children to full term, then she's spent better that 13 years of her life pregnant.

Personally I like Jon and Kate. They only wanted to have one more, but landed up with six more. 13 years being pregnant is just plain crazy, and she's pregnant with number 18 now. Don't they know when to stop?!

but chances are they had a few twins and tripletts... so my guess is they've only had sex 10 times, each time without contraception and each time getting her pregnant.

Have you ever watched the show? It's insane how well it works for them. They have money. They aren't a drain on society so I don't see the problem.

I would disagree. It could be, but could also just as easily be that it's 18 more people to contribute well to society. Never know. I've never seen it, but Ryan said it's good so it must be true! lol

It may not be "normal" to people to have 19 kids, but it works for them. And they do everything for themselves. They built their own house. The dad is into real estate I believe. It's so far outside the "norm" these days that some people find them strange or stupid. It's not like they're popping out kids and then going down to the welfare office and looking for handouts. They are far from being a drain on society.
