I have been shooting since I was 6, and have had a carry permit since I was 21. I have owned many revolvers and semi autos, and my favorites are my two Colts. I have a 1911 officer in 45 acp and a 1991 A1 Commando. Man I can shoot those Colts! I don't know why but they just work for me.

I think I've got my choices narrowed down. Here is my short list of possibles in no particular order.
Model Cal. length height width Mag Cap
    Glock 27 40S&W 6.29 4.17 1.18 9
    Glock 30 45 ACP 6.77 4.76 1.26 6
    Kahr PM9 9mm 5.3 4.0 .9 6
    Kahr PM45 45 ACP 5.67 4.49 1.01 5
    Kahr PM40 40 S&W 5.35 4.0 .94 5

As you can see, I am looking pistols with the smallest physical size for concealability.

The Glocks are a more well known brand with a great reputation. I think they are double action with the first round and single action for the remainder. The Kahr brand is not as well known (to me) and is double action only. I don't know if I would like the double action only feature as well, but this isn't really a big factor as this weapon would never be a target weapon, where a light trigger would be a plus. Kahr clearly has the edge on size, but it would be very hard to go wrong with the Glock. Glock has larger magazine capacity, especially with the 40 S&W. I think I need to go to a range and try a couple of these to see first hand which one I like the best. Looking at the specs, the Glock 27 and the Kahr PM45 are probably the two most likely candidates for me. The Kahr is my favorite 45 ACP on the list because of its size and I really like the 45 ACP round. The Glock 27 stands out because of its high magazine capacity.

Are there some other pistols, in these calibers, out there that are similar in size to the ones I have listed? I haven't found any wheel guns that compare favorably size wise. If I could find some small enough in a 357 mag or a 38 special, I would give them serious consideration.

Sorry for the lousy colume alignment in this post but I can't seem to make the spacing come out right.

    I carry a S&W model 66 357mag or a CZ52 with either the Tokarev or 9mm Luger (interchangeable barrels). Or sometimes a CZ82 9mm Makarov.

There's only 1 carry gun for me...the Walther PPK/S. A 380 is as good as a 9mm, just more compact. My PPK is fully polished with wood grips. I never leave home without it!

Revolver fan here, when I carry, I use a Ruger 101 .357 with Crimson Trace Lasergrips, works out real nice, not to big, but big enough. BB

Kimber Pro Carry .45ACP for me... Good balance and weight, good accuracy.
Like the looks of the PPK a LOT!
May have to go shopping before the SHTF on new regs!

    Currently I carry a Glock 27 (.40 cal)
Used to have a S&W Airweight .38 revolver which I liked, I just wanted to have more than 5 rounds.
I will be purchasing a Ruger LCP .380 as soon as they get the kinks worked out and they are available. I will then probably carry the .380 in the summer and the .40 the rest of the year.

On the bike it's always a small 38. Easy to conceal, easy to fire.

    In my rigs I carry a .40.

    I practice a lot.

Ruger P94DC, .45 ACP. Loaded with 2 low-vel rounds of Hornady XTPs, then six full-boogie rounds, again with XTPs, in case the first two aren't "convincing" enough.

    NICE Kimber!
Now, if you could only get some good boots LOL!
Maybe you could find someone on here who de-badged their Vulcan and would be willing to donate you left and right sides!
Just kidding, just kidding! But I couldn't resist....
