That's why I only do one circuit at a time and when I finish it hit the starter button. A lot less stress. My cousin did the whole wiring for his buddy and didn't check each circuit and had to go back through it. But at least you didn't have to go through that.

Normally the bike will cut out or not start if its in gear and you don't have the side stand switch. But it shouldn't make a difference if you are defo in neutral. But I have had these go faulty so just link it out.
Thats all I know that might help?

I just cut it back to under the seat I didnt actually take any wires out of the fuse box. I didn't want to get to deep. But not sure how that matters because when the kick stand is up it is an open wire anyways?

Do you have a repair manual for it? If you do you need to go one circuit at a time and check your work. Make sure that if you cut something out it wasn't supposed to be tied into something else. I am guessing it is your stand switch since you said it didn't crank after you got rid of it.

I ain't kranky no more cause my bike is Crankin
The problem was the engine stop switch, which I had removed 3 weeks ago. My mistake was: last weekend I removed the 2 stop switch wires from the female side of the connector back to the fuse box, which opened the ignition circuit, creating the no-crank problem like Alley said," Make sure that if you cut something out it wasn't supposed to be tied into something else." the yellow/ green stripe wire leads to the ignition fuse and the black/red stripe wire leads to the negative battery ground. removing the stand, fan, switches had no effect. Now I can get on with my project. I have moved the fuse box and igniter to right side cover and have thinned out my wiring harness, I need to mount the f.box & ignitor, wrap all the wires up, and cut the back part of the plastic box off were the fuse & igniter were mounted. See what it looks like with the exposed swing arm, and then? then? then? then?then? : ) Thanks Guys, Last edited by goddarddr : 4 Weeks Ago at 10:58 PM. |
