I see you use boards for shims on that jack like I do,I thought only a coonass like me did something like that. Oh by the way that picture looks like a mug shot.

So *thats* what they mean by lubing the spline. Some folks do this whenever the rear tire is coming off.

And that poor little girl, no one should have to have parents like that.

Real nice write up Spok. Great pictures. I need to do mine as well and just haven't. I think I will put the zerk in for sure so it doesnt need to be done again though.

I was talking with Whistleclean and we both agree that the zerk is a nice touch but where does all the old grease go when you put in new grease? not really a situation where it can ooze out.

besides, the driveshaft needs maintenance at 7500 mile intervals, to really get at it, you have to pull the swingarm.

If it were designed to let grease ooze out then it would be a no brainer but spok looked at it and confirmed there would be no place for the grease to flow out of...so it appears it's designed to be opened up for inspection as well as greasing.
