That looks good. I might try that if the 650 uses a similar board... I have enough practice soldering LEDs to boards at work.

one more question alec:

i plan on doing the rpm wheel in white and the speedo in red. or the other way around, or all red, or all white... i don't know. but i was hoping you could help me find a white led part number that will work, i'm afraid i don't understand electronics and i don't know what white led to get.

It's listed in the write up:
I've put up 2 websites....you can choose the one you want to go to ------> digikey.com: 475-1010-1-ND, LW T67C-T2U2-3C5D, LED WHITE DIFFUSED 2-PLCC SMD

eled.com -----> EA3528RWC-Z
I personally used digikey becuase they have more selection.

Since you're not very familiar with electronics, soldering and handling these LED's (these things are small, like smaller then a 1 cent coin) I would see if you can get someone else to do it for you...I've heard of people wrecking there LCD tach becuase they soldered wrong wires....

i've actually soldered quite a bit, and am confident in that area. but i'm a moron when it comes to ampherage, currents, etc etc... so i wouldnt want to choose the wrong white led.

edit: yeah, my bad i miss those part numbers. appreciate it bro!!!
