I made a jockey shift for my bike the other day and installed it, but have not tried it out ye. In stead of having a suicide clutch i still use the hand clutch but moved it the the right side and put the throttle on the left side, i have no front brake on the bike so i didnt have to worry about that. i fabricated the shifter out of an old shift lever and a handle bars from an old bike, i stole the idea from someone else. i will put some pics of it up later.

Basically, you have to have a bracket made and you get a short clutch cable and on the bracket you have the foot clutch mounted to it and you connect the clutch cable to it. I had found somewhere on the internet that explained it really well, ill try to find the link for it.

hell yeah man. welcome to the club. i have had my jockey shift for about two years now. i have to concentrate really hard now to ride any bike that still has hand clutch. i wouldn't go back though. i love mine and i just took my front brake off to get the full old school ride. i got mine on a kawasaki 800. keep up the work tutman6

You'd now be the perfect person to answer a question I have about that setup. If you have a jocket shift, foot clutch and no front brake, how on Earth do you handle a steep hill start? Or even more to the point, how do you even hold yourself stationary on a steep hill let alone take off?

you have to find neutral real quick so you can keep your foot on your rear brake and put your clutch foot down. then to take off you have to drop your brake foot clutch and put the bike in first and go all in one fluid motion. it takes some getting used to

yep but it locks up good. i locked it up the other day just fine. i was going about twenty and just wanted to see if i could and she did. got a little sideways. you just have to tighten it from the stock setting.
