I like the swept pipes, gives a nice custom look. I think the drag bars need taller risers however to make it look right togheter with the 21' wheel. That risers/handlebars setup you have would do better togheter with a chubby 16-18' front wheel, but it's just my personal opinion.
Should be no problems to put a smaller rim on the stock hub, but make sure it have the same number of holes. Are you gonna paint the gas tank in the same green color as the fender and side covers? It's a cool color!

Well took your advice thullan got me 6" risers and a rear fender for cut up purposses, another rear light, bullet signals, as soon as my seat gets here it is off to strip down and fabrication. I was also thinking of putting in a solid piece of pipe where the shock is to go rigid. bolt it in like a shock. only it will take the bike down 2".. I think it will work... Oh and taking out the EPA system and scooterizing the air flow need to do the jetting on the carb then. I'll be lost there but there are a few web sites I found on doing it. If there are others let me know... That goes for anyone else out there on that sugject. Well take care and Happy Vulcan Holidays!!!
Cheers Daniel Oh I was picked to do Santa Clause (aka Father Christmas) for a youth center Can you beleive that ****e? |

Celtic, keep us updated. What kind of fender did you get?
h0003010, very slick! The fender is cut like the H-D Deuce fenders, right? I have been thinking of black fender struts, fork legs, lights, nacelle and rims myself. Did you do it yourself and in that case how does it hold up? Oh, and do you use the stock cables for those ape hangers?

I recieved a 71 moto guzi fender and paid 18.95 for it. I figured it was a perfect shape and had the old style look rather than purchase a new one for 60. I just got this one and so far I have invested 150 USD not bad I think. All the sand blasting is right on my base and I spend my lunch time blasting parts for paint, not sanding by hand.... Ok that was a low blow, but really at least you can say that you did all by hand!

I like that Nightster look on the fender, considered it myself for some time.

Haven't been much work done to the bike lately, as usual. The rear fender is almost exposed from all the old paint by now and I am investigating wich epoxy to cover the bare metal with. Thought I should share some other nice 800's I found on the net the other day:

Perhaps not so exciting, but last night I tried covering the paint with a rag soaked with acetone for a few minutes. It made the paint soft enough to scrape most of it off with a knife. The sandpaper took care of the remainders. The woman doesn't like when I do this kind of stuff in the kitchen, so I'll have to do the finishing touches some day when she ain't at home. Almost there:

Any work on an 800 Bobber is exciting and should be shared with us all immediately!!!!
Looking very good mate, love your work! Funny how chicks don't dig on Kitchen meeting Garage. When I started taking our fine China dinner wear into the garage to trace curves for the template of my seat pan, you should have seen the evil stares I got... |
