Yeah man, I love the shape of those Nash bars. They'll look pretty killer with that sporty tank.

I have taken the bike apart so I can start the work of cutting it up for the sportster tank. The bike needs all the air box pieces taken off and the air mod done to it as well. The riser came in so I am going to mount the bars tomorrow and snap a pic of them on the bike.

I have mounted the bars on the bike to get a feel for them. I like them a lot, now i just have to get +8 pull throttle cable and a brake line. The tail light came in as well along with the lowering link.

Just a quick question on the lowering kit. Do you have to remove the rear tire to install it???

Nice project. +8" on the throttle cables seem to be too much. Look into that a little more before you order.
I had +6" on some 16" apes and they would loop quite a bit but then again that was about 5 years ago and I can't evn remember what I did yesterday.

No, the rear tire doesn't have to be removed. Just a way to raise the rear.

Ya, I still have to take a measurement but +6 might be enough, I dont want to have a lot of slack I think it looks cheap so thanks for the heads up. I had +4 on my 12" apes and they were fine. And your right the rear wheel does not have to come off. I jack up the bike pull the bolts grease up the bearing and install the link. lower the back to the ground and your good to go.

This is the 4th kit I have bought from scootworks. lol So I still have all the tools to install it, I have it down to a science now. This bike did have all the EPA stuff on it, so I have to get to taking it all off and getting rid of the stock filter and box and emissions.

its going to be fun watching you create another one. now that I think about it, a swing arm mounted fender doesn't need the shock modified. don't have to worry about tire scrubbing the fender & eating the wiring up. don't ask me how I know

I bought switches (dimmer, kill, and turn sig) and a momentary contact button and going to put them on the side cases under the seat, just not sure what side would be more convenient. I am thinking the left

The ol' wiring job. First time doing it is always the longest. Just take your time and go circuit by circuit.

Those bars look sweet mounted up. Are those stock risers? And on a different note, where did you get your front brake master?

The risers are stock from a 1500 vulcan and the front brake master cylinder is a GMA mini universal front brake master cylinder. A company called BeltDrive sells it. I have it mounted on the bars I will take pictures tomorrow.

Here is an update from today. I have mounted the tank, still need to straighten it out but I wanted to drill the holes for it. I have installed the new air cleaner and got rid of the thermostat. Mounted the speedo and mastercylinder.

It is a 2.2 tank. Goddarddr, for the jockey shift you had on your bike that you sold me. Is there a bracket that actually pulls the cable? all the other brackets came with it but didnt see that one in the box.
