Look great, nice work. Oh and congrats on the placing in the show, that a real good effort first time out, especially for a bike that doesn't have the fancy paint it takes to wow judges.

Thank you! Well now that this project is done for now, I am going to start another one up with my classic. I have already done a lot with it which I will explain in the next Thread i'll start, but there is still more. I am going to put FLH Fenders on it and give it a nice gloss black paint job. So look for it soon!

I am going to keep the hypercharger on the bobber and still in the process of looking for one with a good clean classic look to put on the classic.

What did you do to secure the Headlight bracket after taking the turns off? I'm right in the middle of a 96 A and just came across how floppy that ******* is with out the turns on....... I have ideas, just curious....

I put padded 3M tape to fill the gap between the headlight bracket and the lower triple tree. Works just fine doesn't move nearly as much if at all.

So I rode on the highway for the first time yesterday with the sportster tank on the vulcan. I have noticed that when i get up around 70 75 the bike just starves for gas. it putts and acts like i am about to run out of gas even though there is plenty. Do I have to get a new carb to be able to feed the right amount of gas as the speed and the rpms go up? The bike is jetted but it no longer has the vacuum style petcock and is gravity feed now and i think at higher speeds it just isnt sucking or pouring enough gas in the carb. I want to fix this so I can ride the highway.

So some changes are being made to the bobber already, I will post up once have them installed. I ordered new handle bars, 12" Black Z bars, I am blacking out my controls such as switch boxes and master cylinder and such. Internalizing the wires, and ordered black extended clutch cable and brake line. I also bought another set of wheels which are out at powder coating right now getting the all Black treatment. I have white wall tires for them as well. I will keep the red wheels and tires and switch back when I get bored. I also bought new bolts to replace any bolt that is rusty. I am still waiting for the wheels to come back from powder coat and my handle bars to come in, pictures will be coming soon of the updates, just an fyi of some up coming changes in the near future.

Thanks rustygunner for the pointer, I cured the problem by closing the butterflys to a 45 degree angle blocking the force of the air on the highway and it runs great now. Simple and cheap and able to maintain the hypercharger.
Pictures of the new black 12" apes and the black wheels will come tomorrow, the wheels are on and so are the bars i just have to connect the wires that were interalized to the bike again, bleed the brake and hook up the clutch cable. so pics tomorrow.

So I know I said Iwould have pic's two weeks ago, but just as soon as I go the new black bars and wheels on, not more then 24 hours passed and I took the forks apart and the triple trees off to get powder coated gloss black as well. Those should return to me soon hopefully. Get the bike back together and looking sharp. Next project after that is cleaning up the wiring harness, moving the light horn and turn signal switches under the tank and getting rid of the fan. That should thin out the harness a bit.
