No, the cover stays dry without any mist. You might need to change the gasket.

Thank you, the apes are 12", and the seat has been sold. Now I am going to enjoy riding the bike for a while. I dont want to mess with it to much in the near future, cause Laconia Bike week is coming up and I would like to have a bike to ride!

Hola!

This bike is superb! The most impressive work from the point of classic VN to this amazing bobber. Did you use the lowering kits in rear and front?

Thank you, the bike has the scootworks adjustable lowering kit set at 1" and the front of the VN800A has the VN800B Classic front forks and wheel lowered at 2". I wanted to lowering the rear end to 2" but the seat hits the fender, so maybe in the future I will adjust the fender to accomidate this.

How did you extend the internal wiring for your 12" apes, I just bought a pair of Roland Sands 12" vintage bars, and I'm getting ready to start this project. My biggest concern is how to splice and connect the wiring after I run them through the bars. Any suggestions would be great!

Steve, I noticed that your clutch cable looks like it runs between the tank & steering stem = lot more slack?

The clutch cable you see in that picture was the stock one. I have since installed at +4 cable to it is routed correctly now. I extended the wires by buying a spool and sadering in the new wire which was 10" long.

Ya I have sold to others on craigslist and this one is currently on there as well. I buy my parts from all over. I search for what I want and find the best price. Some of the parts have been used but then sent to powder coat to get refurbished. The differance between the model A and B is, the VN800A comes with a differant front end which includes a slightly differant rake, 21" wheel, thinner axle, differant fork lowers, headlight and doesnt have the fork tins. The rear fenders are differant as well. Although the models may appear differant the parts are interchangable with little to no modification needed.

My bobber in this thread is a VN800A with the classic front end and wheel. I have since kept the classic front end but added the 21" wheel conversion. To make the classic axle work on the 21" wheel I used the classic wheel bearings and had to bore the hub out slightly to fit the bearing spacer. The wheel spacers worked. I have also lowered the rear another inch and moved the rear fender more flush with the rear tire. I will have pic's up shortly.

I didnt, they just blink faster now. I was going to slow them down but I dont mind that they flash fast, makes it more noticable for poeple behind me.
