Geesh that really sucks. I was out several yrs. back for 6 months with back trouble. Company doc. said nothing wrong. Do therapy etc. well a few weeks into therapy and I couldn't walk. Finally gave me a MRI umm herniated disc. So much for them thinking I was faking.
Wish you luck on finding out what's wrong.

Damn! I sure wish our bikes were here. We'll have to sit this one out. Promise that you'll do it again once we get settled.

I'm sure there will be a ride somewhere, Julie... another kancamagus run is always nice, especially in the fall, provided you're off the mountain before dark.... BRRRRR!

Bob, I'm so sorry about your arm. I'm having the same problem. Doc keeps running tests and never comes up with a theory. We've done xrays, blood tests, and now she wants to schedule an MRI and have me meet with an orthopedic. Its frustrating as hell, and I'm empathizing with you 100%. My issues are affecting my job also. Yesterday I swept out an entire outdoor area, and it took over 5 hours. Needless to say, my palms are so sore its hurts to make a fist. I dropped a crate on my wrist and its bruised. And I dont think I could lift my arms to save my life right now. lol

For sure we'll be doing this again. Maybe several times or variations of it. Could actually do it in reverse so that you can cut over from your area to make it easier. Lots of riding roads in Vt. too. If you run 101 out of Manchester it's about an hour and half to Rt. 9 in Brattleboro and off to either Hog Back Mtn. or the Mohawk Trail. Both awesome roads. So many options for you now. LOL

2 months since I was injured on duty....7 weeks of PT therapy to keep from getting atrophy in my muscles. My range of motion for my arm was ZERO 2 months ago.....and it's still ZERO.....the original Ortho sent me to an ortho that specializes in shoulders as that is all that is dead, may hand and elbow function, Not well, but they move.

I am unable to work......there is no workers comp...I live alone and support myself. Today the Shoulder Ortho told me there is no surgery to correct it as nothing appears damaged....other than the slap tear which they can see in the muscle, they think the nerves from C5 and C6 are stretched and will heal over time.......UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH, we'll see what the nuerosurgeon says in the middle of august......

Don't even get me started on the mortgate modification program....that's the one where when you are current on your mortgage and your credit is good but you are struggling due to no fault of your own to pay your bills....Under the plan they modify ur mortgage to help u(yeah right).......the friggen bank told me I don't qualify due to the little bit of income I get from railroad retirement isn't enough, I should sell......I asked the girl if she had someplace in her backyard for my cardboard box......, seems they'd rather wait til all my savings is gone.....then they can foreclose as they'd never recover my mortgage any other way.....

I sold my newer car even tho it was in the last year of the 3 year note, I couldn't make the payments and I owned an older jeep so I lost my shirt selling it for what I owed as the offers were lower and lower......the stealer (probably still smiling) gave me what I owed.........just trying, If I owed money on the Bike that would be gone too.

Sorry I gotta stop venting.........

thanks bud, appreciate it. everyone has the right to vent, it's just the conversations or arguments that ensue after that we like to keep off the forum.

Politics suck. The minute Bret and his brother start a debate, I instantly tune them out. "Oh look at the pretty birds..." lol

Well just got back from our little 300 mile ride to Mt. Greylock and Hogback Mtn. with Chris and my nephew Ken who'll be joining us shortly showing off he 2006 Vulcan 1500 Anniversary Classic he just picked up. Weather was fantastic and roads not too busy. Got to take them both to some area's they've never been. Then on the way home stopped in Vt. and got some BBQ ribs. Following are some shots from the ride. Video's being processed shortly and will be posted when done.
Chirs (on the left) and Ken (on the right) in front of the Monument atop Mt. Greylock

Chris's bike

Kens 1500 vulcan

Chris and Ken wondering if the sky is gonna fall.

Wondering if Chris's bike could make the jump

Having second thoughts

Overlooking the Summit

View from Hogback Mtn.

The threesome

Hardcore bikers. LOL

Finally home - had an AWESOME day riding. The weather was PERFECT!!
I got to try out my new TomTom Rider 2 GPS.
left the house about 12 hours ago, 406 miles, 8h16m moving, 86mph max (not sure about this - bike speedo said max was 103mph)

Can I collapse now? lol

Why do I always have to be the guinea pig!!!???

I think Arnie set a precedence for the type of bike to do jumps with;

Looks like another awesome ride. This time I have a great excuse, I traded in my Vulcan 500 and picked up a leftover 08 Vulcan 900 Classic with 4 miles on it. I know with the 900 I will make the next ride.

Ya'll welcome to join in anytime. Big spread in bikes on this one from my 900 LT to Chris's triumph and Kens 1500 but we all burned the highway ok and handled the twisties etc. with ease. Now if some of the cages would of got out of our way to take it up a notch. LOL Not sure why the gps was giving you those speeds Chris. I know at times on the superslab we were pushing 90 but then again 900's have that speedo error. LOL Me wouldn't speed.

looks like you guys had a blast... I'm pouting into my drink right now, so sad we couldn't make it. It looks awesome from the pics. You guys had a GREAT day, weather-wise, for riding. I'm so freakin' jealous!!!

On a positive note - got my bike back today after not having it most of the week due to the chain problem. And guess what? The way it shifted before was so wrong. I thought I was just having a difficult time mastering the gears, but today when I brought it home, I was shifting, and it was going into gear-after-gear like riding on silk!! I couldn't help but pull away from Bret and play a bit on the road. I couldn't believe the difference it made - a new chain and sprocket. Before the bike would clunk into each gear and jerk a bit. Now - NOTHING!!! You cant even feel the gear change!! I love it!! [Thank you, baby.]

But I still wish I could have done the ride with you guys...

I'll be posting one of the video's in a couple minuets. I changed the mount of the camera on the bike back to behind the windshield. Big mistake. Reflection but in a ways give a better perspective of the curves. LOL Also due to it being a fish eye lens the other video's where Chris and Ken are in front look like they are way ahead of me. They aren't It's just the way the lens works. All in all a fantastic day and Chris can attest to the good roads.
