Enjoy the ride. If I might suggest, swing over through Pidgeon Forge and take 441 down to Cherokee. it's a pretty ride. Then you can take 74 and 28 over to Deals Gap.

OK, went to Knoxville and rode around the area and the park. Got rained on nearly all weekend and never made it to Deals Gap. I just didn't feel good about riding in an unfamilliar area with the pavement wet. Got rained on most of the trip home too. Basically, my trip was not what I had planned, but it happens.

Going back as soon as I can, but it will be 9/25-27 before we can get back down there.

Sorry to hear of the bad luck, and I'm sure this is no consolation but, at least you tried. So many folks never get the opportunity to see the TN/NC/GA mountains. Hopefully it'll be a better trip next go-round.

We rode there in May and experienced a lot of rain, but managed to get in a couple of really good days. It's worth the trip back there - so give it another shot soon. We're going back next week, and will be all around the Deal's Gap 9/16 - 9/20.

Dave - we're still planning to be on The Dragon on 9/17 and possibly eat with you guys later that afternoon.

We're the ugly guys on the slow bikes. Nah - that's just my riding buddies. lol

Grey crappy and wet kinda took a toll on me but wasn't a show-stopper by any means. We did get some riding in, just not near what I had planned.

Going back at the end of the month

As it turns out, my new job is sending me to training in Chicago tomorrow and I won't be back till after you guys are done

Hate to miss it this time, but I am planning some good riding once the leaves change. Maybe we will make it back up there in a few weeks.

Have fun and ride safe everyone!

We're riding up on the 17th from Charlotte. We'll meet Debbie's group at Phillips Restaurant around 6 for dinner. You're welcome to join us.

Good news is the weather around here is great. Not supposed to change until later in the week. You may get a bit wet on the way back home, but at least you'll have some good days before then.

Based on the current forecast, I'll be on the Connie because it's better weather protection. If the forecast changes, my bike may change.

I am exhausted. Didn't have time to write the day 3 recap. Today is the Dragon. Hope the rain holds off long enough.

It looks like it's a "go" for us, so we'll leave early a.m. on Wed 9/16 and be on The Dragon on 9/17. Hopefully we can cruise thru The Dragon with you guys, but we still plan to make it to Phillips to eat (big boys gotta eat ya' know). If it's not raining, I usually have a camcorder mounted to my tank on my Ninja (black/red), so maybe you can spot me. Maybe I can take a few vids of you guys riding thru The Dragon. And remember - I'll be the HANDSOME guy with the two SLOW guys. LOL
