North...South...it all sounds good. I have head from more than one person that the New England states offer some of the most beautiful rides.

I'd like to point out one thing. I know Ispeed has pretty much traveled the country to meet a lot of forum members and he LOVES it. Not to put the focus on one person but...maybe it would be nice for a change if we all went his direction. Just some food for thought. I'll follow the crowd.

Bad thing about the whole house rental deal is that to get the 15% discount, one person has to make the whole-house reservation, handle room assignments, collect money, be responsible for any losses or no-shows, etc. For all that hassle, I'd just stay with individual reservations.

Ayuppa, it can be beautiful up here, we got mountains, oceans, 2 lane state rds that aren't like lumber trails.....altho we got plenty of dem too....

50 miles here can be all the difference in the world.....in that distance I can be in Hartford at the Capital or on the Ct or RI beaches or in the Berkshires, actually add an hours boat ride and I can be on Block Island RI.

I've had a couple people tell me [who have been to MULTIPLE events] that Laconia Motorcycle Week was by far the most beautiful.

I was thinking the same thing. I've been left holding the bag before and it ain't no fun. Kinda ruins the whole trip. But I'll go out on a limb and make you all a promise: when I win the powerball lottery I'll front the bucks for the whole house rental. It's just the kind of guy I am

Laconia bike week is kind of a joke Sandy, just a ton of bikes and cheap leather and stuff. if you go for the races it is cool, but the rally just isn't for me. Americade is a lot better, but it seems that the merchandise has moved towards the cheap leather stuff like Laconia in the past few years. it used to be all touring stuff and things that i might actually buy, but there seems to be less and less of that stuff each year.

I like Americade for the touring in the area. I didn't like the vendors as much this year but I did manage to buy a few small items. Martin actually bought new tires and they installed them on the spot. So that was convenient.

In all honesty, I'm not interested in Laconia's Bike week. I used it as the example of the scenery explained to me by the people I know who have gone to Laconia for the event. In a nutshell, people I know who ride a lot in different states, have told me when they went to Laconia, it was some of the most beautiful scenery they've ridden. There was never any mention of the event they were going to...just how beautiful the ride was.

they do still have some vendors set up for touring, like the guys installing tires. they usually come with a ton of Goldwing tires.

ah, gotcha
yeah, it is really nice up there. there are a few lakes in that region so a lot of boating related stuff around, plus the White Mountains and that whole area. the White Mountains area is beautiful and there is a lot to do.

I've been the the New England states twice about 16-yrs ago and both times were in the winter. I'd love to visit in warmer weather to check 'er out.

As a newcomer to the group, I selfishly vote for New Hampshire. Or Massachusetts. Or Vermont. LOL

I don't like those big rallies, either. Don't like the crowds. I don't think we'll be doing Laconia.

Someone could always organize a 2010 MA BTK Forum Ride.

If I could be allowed to vote it would have to be W. Va. as I can only get so much time off of work. Although back in the 70's I spent a week in Bar harbor maine and it was gorgeous. I use to run scrap metal into N.H. out of Det. and that was very nice. Just keep me informed and I would try to make it wherever the majority chooses.
