Thumbs up East Coast Riders Going to Red Lodge in 2010

OK, several of us have been talking about heading to RL in 2010. Let's use this thread to see if we can ride together for some or a portion of the trip.

I am hoping that my son will have a bike by then. If so, I see this as a "once-in-a-lifetime" trip for us. We are interested in taking tents and sleeping bags and camping some of the time in order to keep expenses down.

We also want to see as many sites as possible since neither of us has been to that part of the country before.

Let the planning begin!

I will not be camping but will join you for the ride. I am willing to share a room to cut down on expenses.

Honestly, I would share a room with a guy as long as ground rules were put in place and as long as he doesn't snore.

If you share a room with a guy you might not have to pay for the room at all.......... I'm just sayin

I have no idea whether we'll be going in 2010. I hate to miss my first RL, but it's also really, really far to ride. 2300 miles! Yikes! Alan has a new job, and I'm sure about the vacation situation, either. I guess we'll have to play this one by ear.

splitting rooms saves a TON of money. even more so if you can get a third or fourth person in the room. at that point it would cost more to camp. on a trip that long, camping can be tough as you are limited on what you can bring and need more stuff for a longer trip. i recommend planning to stop for laundry if you are going to camp Jim. either that, or buy a trailer to pull behind the bike, that works WONDERS.
hope to see all of you guys out there next year. heck, i might even pass ya on the road.....

i believe the rally is the weekend after the 4th of July. pretty sure this group would be looking to leave around the 4th, spending 5 or 6 days to get there.
