I'm still in if its not raining. I'm not trying to pick a route but what are the thoughts of a route like the one below. To Rt 2 it clocks in at about 5 hours 180 miles, with stops for photos and refreshments could hit about 7 hours. If Curtis' BBQ is still open maybe a detour up there for lunch?

Yes, there is a quick sidetrack into NY. I just want to add it to my short list of states motorcycled through. Maine, Rhode Island will have to wait for spring. NY can wait too if there are objections.

Curtis (classicblack) and Chris (cjp9106 are suppose to go. Not sure if Sportygirl is going. I think depending on who's going and from where they are coming from will determine the final starting point and route. Just so many options out in this area for rides. LOL

It looks like we'll be taking the last part of Rt 2 into NY.
That is an awesome section if you can do it without being stuck behind any cars!!

I want to do this run. I've been dying to get in on a run. The only thing that worries me is the jump on the pike never went through tools with bike. (toll ticket what to do with it) Knowing my luck it will probably rain that day

If you're coming out of Springfield why would you have to jump on the pike?? Actual ride won't be on any toll roads. Curtis and Chris will have to do some toll road riding to get here though.
.22 what area of Western Ma. are you actually from???

Stop the bike at the toll and put it into neutral if you have to use both hands to pay the toll. Have about $5 in one dollar bills sticking out of your left glove or put them in an accessible pocket in your riding jacket. I've thought about attaching a very strong paper/binder clip to my keychain and keeping a few dollars in it.

Umm ezpass is free from the state. Why not get one. I got one for the bike and car. You can put up to 5 vehicles on one ezpass. Makes it a breeze. Just have to find right place to mount the pass. I put lower part of windshield near headlight bucket. Sometimes it'd read sometimes not. Have to move it up higher I think. But it was real nice just being able to drive thru. Even the Newport Bridge takes them.

Good route. Just was in touch with Curtis from R.I. he has a long ride up to here and will be doing 2-up. Mentioned he wanted to try and get back home by 6 or so. To head up towards Athol would be a bit out of the way for him and the others coming from Hartford and Springfield. What I was thinking is since you're from Belchertown that I would meet Curtis and the others from Spfld/Htfd at the McDonalds on the end of 291 by the Turnpike Exit 6. From there we could ride up to Belchertown Center and meet you at the common there then head down Rt. 9 take them over the twisties on 116 which Chris has done then onto Rt.9 in Ma. over to Rt. 7 in Pittsfield then up 2 into NY so you'd get your NY part in then down 9 thru old Bennington and over HogBack Mtn. From there head south on 91 so Chris could cut over on 2 to head back home and the rest head down 91 being able to split off if need be to get home. Curtis can catch the Ma. Pike in W.Spfld to head home. Rt. would be from Spfld back to W.Spfld TPK 217 miles 5.5 hours not counting stops or food break. LOL This should allow Curtis to get home 6 or so and get Chris back home before nite fall. This assuming meeting at first location by 9a.m.
Feedback Please
