Default fall foliage ride W.Ma - Vt.?

Getting real close to that time. Comments have been made about getting together for a fall foliage run around Mohawk Trail, Hogback Mtn. (Molly Stark Trail Rt. 9 Vt.). I'm up for any Sat. ride doing this. Lets get some ideas of how many people want to do this and area for the ride. Even if it's a split group ride for those in the Eastern Ma., Maine, NH type run or Western Ma, Vt. type Run but we better start planning now. Was up Rt.116 near Adams Ma and saw a couple trees already turning. The rest were green though. LOL
So When???? Where???? and Who?????

Warren, not sure whether we can join you, but I'll be really interested in hearing what you find if you go before October 4. My parents are arriving that day, and I'm going to want to take them on a foliage *drive*. Or two. Or three.

I always envy the beautiful scenery and foliage and how your urban areas are spread apart in the NE; though I've never been. Here in OC we've got 34 cities within 800 sq mi and they're delineated with signs in the street.

But I ride all year so the envy is cyclical.

I'm in, I'll do whatever it takes to make sure I make this trip. Any Saturday over the next 4-5 weekends look good. Foliage prediction maps put the peak at around the 10th - 17th of October.

Geesh I also put in for vacation for that week of Oct. LOL We'll wait for some responses before we figure something out. I know a few guys I ride with that aren't on the forum will go. Just so many options here. LOL
jukief I ride every sat. unless it's raining, chris is out your way and rides every weekend and I can vouch that he's a great riding partner. You're lucky you're basically in the middle of a good group location wise for riding. In you're situation best you set the date that you want to ride and we'll see who here can hook up with ya. You won't have to ride alone that's for sure. hehe

I have a friend on a Vstar 1100 that would be interested as well, if he can find a sitter. As far as route goes we could head into New Hampshire to meet up with jukie. NH has great color too.

I'd love to... if the bike doesn't sell before you schedule this ride, I'll try my damnedest to make it. It would be my last ride on her, so at least it'd be a long one. Keep me posted, please.

That's wonderful to hear! We still haven't even put the batteries in our bikes. Alan's been really sick (he just went back to work yesterday), and I have a bum knee (I'm getting an MRI Friday to find out what's wrong with it). I don't think I can support the weight of the bike right now, which is a huge bummer. Very depressing. But we'll see.

Dates up to ya'll. I'm basically free any Sat. for an all day ride. Went out to my daughters in the Berkshires Sat. (today by car though). A few trees just starting to turn so I'm thinking we have maybe 4 weeks to work in a fall foilage ride. Chris you've been out to the Mohawk Trail and Hogback Mtn. area on rides a few times plus I know you did the NH or Maine ride. Myself of course I prefer a ride out here and Vt. area but give your thoughts too.

LOL ya. I've taken a few on that route and posted video's of it on here. I like running that up to Rte. 8 then up to Vt. or Mohawk or Mt. Greylock. Ya gotta join us on a run out there again.

Any saturday is good for me also. Is it too late to schedule this ride for next saturday the 26th? if not, then 2 weeks after that when I believe most of us are free.
I might take a ride along Rt. 2 tomorrow to check out the foliage. Anyone is welcome to join me.
Warren, you know me, I don't care where we ride as long as the route is good and hopefully the scenery is nice.
Rt. 116 is nice - hopefully next time we won't get stuck behind a car.

Chris Next Sat. would be fine as long as the weather holds out. Don't forget Big E is on so meeting up would be best away from W. Spfld. LOL If sportygurl131 wanted to join us you could hook up with her on the way out to here. Heck we could meet in Spencer do a quabbin then 116 then mohawk or something like that. LOL
