Here is the info on the Old Clark Inn. I have not blocked the rooms yet. Please let me know if I should go ahead and block them. This is for Aug 5 - 8th 2010
1. Private Bath Rooms - They have 6 rooms with a queen size bed and 1 room with a full size and a twin bed. The cost is $57 for a single and $72 for a double. Tax is not included in this quote. 2. They have a few rooms that would share a bathroom with another room. Not sure if we are interested in any of these types of rooms. The price would be slightly less for these rooms. 3. If the blocked rooms are filled up, they will direct those people to a nearby establishment in town. Didn't provide names over the phone which I understand since they probably want our business first. I will also post this on the other 2010 thread to make sure everyone sees this. |

What is their cancellation policy? I'm planning on being there, not sure what room type I want, depends on if my son gets a bike by then. I'm flexible as to the room type. I say block some rooms before they're gone as long as you're not left holding the bag if people back out.
Funny thing is I rode right by this place this summer, there were a bunch of BMW riders there then (guess they're not very fussy about their clientele!) Sorry Martin!

Hopefully some of the southern folks can make it and fill up the rooms. I plan to be there for sure.

I do want to talk to my doctor again to check on additional options. Anti-inflammatory drugs were step one. I'm ready for step two.

Maybe we can go from Carlisle to Marlinton via Skyline Drive. It would mean slabbing a portion of the ride but if it's nice out, it would be a nice ride. It would be a long day though but doable. We could also do 2/3 of Skyline Drive if time becomes an issue. If it's raining, we could have an alternate plan.

I like the Skyline drive idea, but it would be a long day. Maybe it could be one of the days loop rides while we're down there instead, or hit it on the way home. Whatever, but for those who haven't been on Skyline, they've got to ride it if we are that close. I'm sure others would agree.
And that Old Clark Inn looks pretty neat. Must be owned by Jim's relatives! |

Alternatively, a loop ride is also possible. But it looks like it would be just as long as taking Skyline Drive from Carlisle. |
