Default Maryland/Pennsylvania Benefit Ride on Sunday

There is a breast cancer benefit ride on Sunday, June 10, that I am participating in. The ride begins at Williamsport (MD) Harley Davidson off of Rt 81 and benefits Jennifer, a second time patient. Registration is from 9:30-11:00 with free coffee and donuts. Departure is at 11:30. The ride will go Rt 11, Rt 9, 522, to the Mountain House Bar and Grille in McConnelsburg for the first break. Then back through Mercersburg to 63 to the Williamsburg American Legion for a free late lunch and a live rock band. The cost is 15 for one rider and 25 for 1 rider and 1 passenger.

If anyone from the Harrisburg, PA area would like to ride in this benefit on Sunday, let me know and we can ride down to Williamsport together. I plan on leaving around 8:30.

    Thanks,
    JD

Sorry JD... would love to go, but we're headed to the lake this weekend. We did get some miles on the bikes last weekend (about 400mi) when we participated in a ride for a friend that had broken his neck in an accident. Actually, he's now healed and back in the saddle, so the ride was more about his recovery -- which to me was a better reason to ride! <edit: just for clarity, I was referring to our ride and not the Maryland one. Sry.>

    Have fun and ride safe!

Sounds like you guys are having a great time at the lake this summer. The VRA is doing a chapter ride to Raystown Lake on Saturday, June 16. They're stopping for lunch at the Raystown Resort Marina. Maybe you'll run into them if you're up there. I too am getting a lot of riding in. Seems there are riding opportunities every weekend. Well have to hook up for a ride when you are not at the lake. Maybe we can do Gettysburg Bike Week or Carlisle Bike Fest. I'll at least get to ride with you guys at the PA Forum Ride, which is now only 2 months away. Later G.

I'd like to do Gettysburg or Carlisle or both, JD. We'll keep in touch on those subjects.

Doubt we'll see the VRA guys... we get off the docks on Friday night. No reason to 'suck dock'...

Sunday was a great ride. The ride raised almost $3000 for Jenn. There were 88 total bikes participating, many HDs, 2 trikes, 2 customs, and 5-6 others. The Mountain House Bar and Grill is really nice with a great view from atop the mountain. They also have a hang gliding spot right next to the place. Back at the Legion, we had food, beer, raffles, and some good rock n roll. Here are a few camera phone pics for anyone interested.
