Friday will be the rest of the way up Idaho, skirting the west gate to Yellowstone, and across the top of the park and down into RL.

Trip home will be due south through Yellowstone and as far into Utah as we can make it on Monday.

Sounds good to me. Going to be fun!!

Hell yeah it will be fun. I feel butterflies in my stomach when I think about departing. I will ask for the time off tonight. I've been off a whole week and have not see my boss. Ha! How ironic, I come back to work tonight only to ask for more time off! I think we started posting what we need to bring but... we need to assign individuals their respective duties before we all take 7 first aid kits but not other essentials. When are we meeting again anyway? What about the mandatory rides? Damn, a lot of things up in the air still and the grand day is coming towards us full throttle. Am I tripping? Maybe, but you guys should know if we wait too much, it will catch us by surprise!

I think to a certain degree, we all need to be as independent as we would normally be for a solo ride. A lot can happen over 3,000 miles in 7 days, and if a bike breaks down and there's no room on another bike for the "assigned gear", it could create problems down the road.

Or halfway there, someone may decide that they can't handle the heat/road/food/company and decide to turn around.

Mark will have the full med kit and I've got a decent tool kit that I always carry with me, but I would still recommend that everyone have a basic $10 first aid kit and basic tools, plus one or more cell phones, chargers, etc...

One of the most important things is going to be hydration. It's going to be pushing 100 on some parts of the ride. One of my first summer rides was from Chino to San Berdoo... it was about 115, and by the time I got home I was hurting... took a few hours to recover.
I strongly recommend everyone have a 100oz Camelback. A few years ago, I was working in Cathedral City. It was pushing 125. I was drinking 5 GALLONS of water every day and only using the restroom once. 2 guys working with me went to the hospital and they can't handle the heat anymore.

We can have another meeting after Sunday's ride after we get down the hill... there's a Starbucks in Arcadia that I stop in at every now and then to do my trip reports... or there's also a Chili's close to it. Right along the 210 but still west of the 605. I originally wanted to do a couple more breakfast meetings, but my schedule just hasn't allowed for it... this time of year it's tough enough to plan forum rides.. last year we had the Julian ride in April and didn't have another forum ride until July or August.

We've had a good turnout of those who plan to go on the last couple of rides. Everyone has been out with everyone at least once except for Kc6... and he was on the Malibu ride last year... I have no doubts in his abilities.

I will do my best to make everything other than the 18th of this month.
But I am getting into our summer film releases and will be working tons of OT. OT for me starts at Midnight... Kind of kills the day when I get off work at 5:00am and have to be back at 3:00pm..

yeah, med kit I am not sweating, I ordered a full trauma kit, plus added things that are more motorcycle essential than usually comes with it. The night before we leave , I'll crack it and go over some basic " keep this person alive until the ambulance gets there stuff"

my biggest concern is narrowing the stops down for hotels................

plus, did everyone e-mail alpine lodge, I check back with him each week, but if we dont hear soon, will have to lock up down the road.

tools, ,y bike really uses 3 different size sockets, bought a small set in a plastic case about 4 inches by 9.

pliers, electrical tape, flashlight, duct tape and bungees take care of a lot
dont worry about being able to do a engine rebuild on the side of the road

check your tires...........if you have 10k on the stockers, you may not want to push an out of state ride with them

coolant flush, final drive fluid, an extra set of plugs...............all does wonders

Don't listen to Mark on tires... he thinks they're still good to go when only 2 layers of cord are showing on a 3-ply tire

Wow... I could post some stuff, but I know I'd forget something important.
Laundry facilities are available at RL, so we can skimp a little on clothing, BUT, rain gear is a must (I've got Froggs Toggs). Temps will vary from 100+ to possibly snow on the summit at Beartooth Pass.
Roll of TP just in case,
There's a few threads with lists, plus Gadget has a list on his site.

I would consider that the absolute bare minimum. It's not like you might have to remove a wheel (though I suppose it's possible).

So that leaves.... June.

I'll get a date posted for that one as soon as I can.

Ya... you never know. Sometimes things just happen and you can't always get to a convenient spot.

Homey don't do beans.

You can use the toilet paper as sunscreen if you get desperate enough. Please post pics!

Coppertone SPF 30 or 50 in the blue spray can.
Work great and doesn't burn your eyes if sweat drips in. I shoot my entire face and then wipe my eyelids so I don't smear the stuff on the inside of my glasses.

Ok. Just checked my tires and going to get new ME880's put on Friday.
My rear is at the bars. booo
Not bad though $102 for the front and $130 for the rear installed.
Best of all the local shop has then in stock!
Too bad I still can't find spark plugs. No go at Bert's Rich...
