okay.....didnt want to say too much until it was definite, but just heard back from the owner of gallaghers Irish rose bead and breakfast..........he had no rooms available.

what he did have was a duplex available, sleeping for 6........with full kitchen.

Its $250 a night, $275 with tax

now I figure a hotel room is $100 plus, but $275 split 6 ways is $46 a piece for a total of $138 for the whole weekend.

it is a 1/2 mile form the alpine, on the golf course or something............I went and paid the first night, I figure we can all just settle up in montana

so what do you all say now ??????????????????

oh dave, I was thinking, instead of canceling your reservations, why not offer them to a forum member

Not sure on the timing of our arrival at Newcomb's Ranch... A lot depends on how many and who shows up, as that will have a big impact on time at the Saugus fuel stop, plus our average speed on Little Tujunga.

GPS software says it should be 90 minutes from Roxford to the Placerita Canyon exit, down to the 210, then up to Newcomb's... so if we get away from the Roxford stop at 10:15, then we should be hitting Newcomb's around 11:45 or 12.

It's about 65 miles, and less than 20 of that is slab, so I'm thinking Mapsource is being a bit optimistic on speeds in the twisties... 65 - 20 = 45, if we average 30mph in the canyons (which is about what the LCR averages) then we've got 90 minutes just in the canyons, plus another 15-20 minutes on the slab.

Just call them and let them know that you're giving up your room. Then they call the next person on the waiting list. They won't have charged your credit card.

Is the entire hotel booked for just BTK members? IOTW: If one of us gives up a room, do we know that it will go to another forum member, or is there a chance that it could end up going to some deer hunter who happened to get on the list?

Reason I ask is it appears that the entire town is booked up... and it can't all be BTK members. I mean, someone posted on here that there were something like 6 rooms and a few cabins available. Mark and Sergio called immediately and never got a callback.

I was thinking, if you put it up,then whoever you work it out with, you call alpine, and let them know, and immediately have the other people call

I'm not going to sweat the tent, but the bag and a pillow are coming.
I need my t-bag for my tripod anyways since it's too big for the hardbags or trunk.
