I burned 1mm in about 1,000 miles on my E3's... and I got 14k out of them.

Also I read that something like 75% of tire punctures happen during the last 25% of tread life. We'll be doing close to 3,000 miles. Most stock tires on the 1500/1600 and 900 are good for not much over 7-8000, and the V2K seems to burn them in 5k.

Ya, right...

I saw your idea of a tire that's got 60 miles left in it.

The manual says "3mm tread depth"
Not "3 layers of belts exposed"

no need to worry about rednecks in Montana......it's way north of the mason Dixon line

well except at the Sunday night pig races.......which nobody should miss its a hoot!!!!

The Bear Creek Saloon and Restaurant is located in Bear Creek Montana. A historical mining town near Beartooth Pass. An award winning steakhouse for several years in a row for 'Taste of Red Lodge.'

During the summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) pig races are held Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. There are 12 nightly races on a 15 minute schedule featuring such stars as Makin' Bacon, Knuckles and Nota Hot Dog. The winning pig pays out one-half of each $50 race pot. The other half goes toward scholarships for Carbon County high school students. A white wire fence borders the mini oval stadium complete with ads on the walls, which is located outside the back of the restaurant. From a balcony fans witness the moves of their favorite pig. These pigs can fly! How? Drop by the races, stay awhile and learn the secret.

And to satisfy that human urge to eat, bite into a variety of 100% Montana beef steaks or opt for Cajun shrimp and grilled chicken. Looking for a pork chop? Don't even go there. These 20- to 90- pound racers are well cared for and adored! Ready to pig out? Give the Bear Creek Saloon a call

Was chatting with a guy a few weeks ago who almost ended up in the Red Lodge jail.

They were having dinner, and the owner came by to ask how their steaks were. apparently one of the guys wasn't happy with his (and service wasn't too good, but in fairness, they were PACKED).
He told the owner what he thought of the steak... they ended up in the parking lot, and within a few minutes, the entire RLPD was there (both of them?).

Took a fair amount of talking to keep them from going in for disturbing the peace.

I think we're in trouble

that's what I meant. My rear is a bit shy of 3mm now, plus I will be riding all week. I will pull a Mark and ride on tires that show the metal mesh!

Just PM'd you. Brenda will check Kaw stock tomorrow on the rear tires and see what the deal is.

They'll be fine for Big Bear, but I really would prefer that everyone have all work done prior to that.

Tuesday night won't be a good time to find out that Bert's got your belt too tight when they installed the new tire.
I'll be doing one more oil change between Big Bear and RL, but I'll also be doing a Malibu ride with the LCR on the 6th, and am taking the whole week off so if anything is amiss I have all day Monday and Tuesday to fix it.

There ya go:
200/70-15 in stock for $187
American Motorcycle Tire
180/70-15 in stock for $132
American Motorcycle Tire

Shipping is $12... they're in Phoenix, no reason to pay $32 for 2-3 day.

Tubeless tires can be used with or without tubes.

But I forgot about your tubes... get a new tube with the tire, and I normally replace the rim strip too.

Ya... flats are enough of a PITA on the road, but I do carry a compressor and a plug kit and that'll fix up the 1600/Nomad/V2K/900C and Mark's Shadow.

Don't want to have you or Art get a flat with the laced wheels. They look sweet but I can't plug 'em.
