Ride is still on for Sep 27th

I think we had quite a few people riding to other places prior to that date which is still something like 6 weeks. Should we start another thread for something like a weekly ride? There are quite a few of us it seems. That would be kind of cool. How about a "where are you riding this weekend" thread?

I have no plans for saturday or sunday yet (except to go put a deposit on a bike for the wife) but might catch up to somebody if they are close enough.

Take care,
Robert

Morrow Mountain is still on. Don't really have any new info as of right now. I've just been trying to bump the thread in the cruiser section every couple days in case someone hasn't seen it yet.

I'll be out riding Sunday someplace! I got the vulcan back last night and it's begging to see the road!

Just got back from up there about 8 tonight. I think you can get back on the parkway anywhere around 40 but not sure. I rode it down from the north to the detour and they route you to Marion down 221. You may can get back on it from 80 but not sure. I hit 70 and 40 to Black Mountain and then went 9 to Bat Cave and on to Hendersonville. Picked the Parkway back up at 276 and then on up to Cherokee. Left Maggie Valley around 1:15 this afternoon and headed home. First time in the mountains on my bike and luved every minute of it....can't wait for a return trip..

Another bump. Looking forward to this. Rode by Morrow Mountain going and coming from the mountains last week but didn't take the time to check it out.

As it is right now, it looks like I won't be there. I have to go to, of all the events in the world, a book signing at the local library. Some friends of ours have finally written a short book and, believe it or not, used a picture of one of our dogs on the cover! So we've been having some fun with this- we ink-stamped Smiley's (the dog) paw print and had rubber stamps made for the signing. BTW, you can see the book here http://www.publishamerica.com/shoppi...asp?Search=Yes

If you can't make it for the ride, maybe you can link up with us for dinner?

i wish i could be riding, when i replaced the clutch i never got the crank case sealed up. i bought a new gasket and put it on and it is still leaking. so i have parked it for the time being. i really need to get it fixed anyone have any experience replacing the gasket on the crankcase on a 03 1600? i could use a hand if possible.

I've never had a problem changing them before. Did you clean off the old gasket well?

Yeah, you're right, didn't think of that. I'll do my best to be there. I've already started nagging the wife to let me go out and play. Maybe in a month I can wear her down

Well, looks like I'm out for Morrow Mountain. I had a nagging feeling about that date but couldn't figure out why....till I got back to work tonite. I have a PALS class that weekend, the 27th and 28th. This is mandatory and since my certification has expired, I have to be there. Really ticks me off because I was really looking forward to meeting you guys and had already talked to the wife about riding out with me.
