Ride is still on for Sep 27th
I think we had quite a few people riding to other places prior to that date which is still something like 6 weeks. Should we start another thread for something like a weekly ride? There are quite a few of us it seems. That would be kind of cool. How about a "where are you riding this weekend" thread? I have no plans for saturday or sunday yet (except to go put a deposit on a bike for the wife) but might catch up to somebody if they are close enough. Take care, Robert

I'll be out riding Sunday someplace! I got the vulcan back last night and it's begging to see the road!

Just got back from up there about 8 tonight. I think you can get back on the parkway anywhere around 40 but not sure. I rode it down from the north to the detour and they route you to Marion down 221. You may can get back on it from 80 but not sure. I hit 70 and 40 to Black Mountain and then went 9 to Bat Cave and on to Hendersonville. Picked the Parkway back up at 276 and then on up to Cherokee. Left Maggie Valley around 1:15 this afternoon and headed home. First time in the mountains on my bike and luved every minute of it....can't wait for a return trip..

As it is right now, it looks like I won't be there. I have to go to, of all the events in the world, a book signing at the local library. Some friends of ours have finally written a short book and, believe it or not, used a picture of one of our dogs on the cover! So we've been having some fun with this- we ink-stamped Smiley's (the dog) paw print and had rubber stamps made for the signing. BTW, you can see the book here http://www.publishamerica.com/shoppi...asp?Search=Yes

I've never had a problem changing them before. Did you clean off the old gasket well?

Well, looks like I'm out for Morrow Mountain. I had a nagging feeling about that date but couldn't figure out why....till I got back to work tonite. I have a PALS class that weekend, the 27th and 28th. This is mandatory and since my certification has expired, I have to be there. Really ticks me off because I was really looking forward to meeting you guys and had already talked to the wife about riding out with me.
