well guys you will have to put me on as tentative, i drive the truck for my old high school marching band, if it wasn't for having my sister and sister in-law in the band i wouldn't be doing it anymore. 9/27 might be the start of the season for us. they haven't pick anywhere yet so not sure if we have a comp or not. i should no in a week or two.

FYI i got my oil leak stopped Saturday, thank goodness. it was driving me crazy to not be able to ride. i ride almost 80 miles a day, and the 35mph i get on the bike helps.

Default Morrow Mountain - Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill

Tentatively, we're planning to leave from Triangle Cycles on 15 / 501 at 10:00. That should let us make a pit stop and still get to Morrow Mountain around 1:00. The more the merrier. So far, we have a Vulcan 1600, a Goldwing 1800, a VStar 1100, 2 Sportsters and a 650 cc Yamaha Scooter. We expect at least several more from the Triangle area. Eclectic R Us.

Be Well,

Deacon

Default For the Iron Butt people out there

For those of you that don't already have enough events on the calender, this is coming up the weekend of the 13th and 14th:

http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/fo...atv-rally.html

Earlier, ya'll were talking about the Blue Ridge Parkway and picking up 80 in Marion. This event is all running out of Tom Johnson's campground right at the base of 80.

I bet I can get a few from that rally to come to the Morrow Mountain run.....

So what you are saying is, if we trade you a few for your event, then you will donate a few to the Morrow Mountain event. Hmmmm. Ok I am game. Dave? That would mean he owes us 2. We could do the Saturday portion.

Only two? Ah come on....

Nah, whoever wants to come will be welcome. Ya'll might even see some of the guys up at Deals Gap the weekend before.

Anywho, got times: registration on Friday starts at 3, although there is an early bird run at around 11. Saturdays registration will start around 7 or 8 and go all day long. Rides will leave (tenatively) around 10.

The 27th is a car/bike show for the battered womens shelter that we normally support, but we can see if a couple of brothers can ride out to Morrow ( I just have to find out where that is!).

Default Triangle Riders

Triangle NC Riders,

On the 27th of September Morrow Mountain ride, some of us are planning to meet first at Triangle Cycles on Rtes 15/50 in Durham, We're planning to ride down as a group, leaving at 10:00 AM.

When I asked the Manager there for permission to meet there, he offered to get free coffee and donuts for all who meet up there!

I knew they were nice folks.

I'm bringing several dozen one page maps, should anyone get separated.

It will be helpful to know how many people will be meeting there, to order donuts.

Thanks,

Deacon

If you want to make it a bit more eclectic, I may be joining you on my Yamaha Roadliner. I'm trying to convince my wife to come. How many of you are going to have bring a significant other passenger on the back? She doesn't want to be the only one.

Default Wives

Hello meangreen,

At least two couples in our group will be riding with wives. It's more fun as a couple. With our wives along, we also guarantee rest stops in a timely manner. There will likely be more, but there will certainly not be less.

My wife is trying to convince me to buy a Goldwing. Maybe, if she sees your Roadliner, she'll broaden her horizons.

Be Well & bring the Mrs.

oddly enough, I seem to have two choices. My wife gets her own bike (both of our preference) or I put in an order for a V-max.

If there is any way to get her own bike by the time we come to Morrow Mt, I doubt she will be confident enough for that long a ride. Unfortunately, it really isn't comfortable for two of us on a sport bike to ride that long.

We are going for a trial run today up towards Hendersonville on old hwy 25 so if that turns out good, we may consider it.

Catch you guys later,
Robert

Less than a month to go. Spread the word to any of your friends that may want to come along. Seems to be a decent group coming so far. I know I started this whole thing but as I've said, I'm not familiar with the area. I know there's still time but does anyone that is familiar with the area want to put together a route?
