Hey, wild deuce. I live near Albemarle and Morrow Mountain, so I could probably come up with a route. Do you have a time frame as to how long you would like a ride to last? What type roads etc. I'm sure I can come up with something. Just looking for feed-back. I'm not a well seasoned rider, and have never rode in a large group ride, so it would be best for everyone,if someone else could take the lead. If you want me to work up a route, let me know.

It doesn't matter to me who sets up a route. I wasn't planning on this being some organized event. But I just thought that if we had something planned out that it would go over a little smoother. It doesn't matter to me if we just start riding and have a final destination planned to get something to eat. That was kind of the whole concept anyway. Everyone meets up, shoots the breeze with intro's. Goes out on a ride and then get some grub. Whatever the masses want. I'm easy. Just anxious to meet some of the folk around here.

Thanks for setting this up Ryan; I just saw this thread. I have to pass on this weekend due to a football game but would like to meet you guys sometime. I often meet some of the Delphi Forum Vulcan guys in Asheboro and will let them know of your lunch plans.

I think the key, as Dave stated earlier in this thread was a meet at Morrow Mountain. What happens then well is really open. Eat, Ride ? More are coming, some with wives like me and I think it would be cool to meet. Some may decide to go eat, some ride. But ya first got to get the fols there, or everything else doesnt matter.

Dave has gone from about 8 to who knows how many now. I think it is a safe bet to say, this is a meet and greet and Morrow Mountain. lol
At least I will be able to get some feedback on my Dooleys that are ordered. ![]() |

Well I will definitely be at Morrow Mt. I should have at least one friend with me and possibly two. (Maybe more if things keep going this way lol) I don't know how much time (or energy) I will have to do any group riding once we get up there, but I am always up for some food! lol
I can't wait! We had so much fun this weekend. The wife stayed on the bike with me for almost 6 hours. It wasn't the same distance as Morrow Mt will be, but it was a good day in the saddle. She won't be going to this one, but you can count on the next. Only a few more weeks now! Take care, Robert

Wife says yes. We will be there. We will probably meet up with the triangle group meeting at Triangle Cycles.

Can anybody recommend a biker friendly motel or campground around there? It will be around a 500 mile round trip for me (not including any riding once I am there) and I am not sure that I want to tackle that in one day.

You shouldn't have a problem with any of them.

If the wife decides to come, we will be looking for a motel too.
It's about 145 miles and google says 2 hrs 45 minutes one way. I will do some research tonight and find out what sort of deals my wife can get on rooms in Albemarle. She works for a hotel management company and can get discounts almost anywhere. How many would be looking for a room? Maybe we can get a group discount of some kind. Take care, Robert
