Just FYI . Perkins Memorial drive is a great scenic lookout on the western (Bear mountain) side of the Hudson river. Also there are 2 decent roads to try in that area. One is 7 Lakes Drive Thru Harriman State park. Nice lakeside scenery. Shady roads. The other is when you cross the Bear Mountain Bridge to the Eastern side of the Hudson if you turn right to go south on 9D there is a great scenic lookout over the Hudson and about 5 miles of very twisty mountain roads to the route 9 traffic circle.
One other alternate way to get there is to take the sprain north to the Taconic parkway. (both no trucks) Then take the 301 Cold Spring Road exit west to Cold spring on the Hudson and 9D south to the Bear mountain Bridge. |

Let`s give it until 12 noon tomorrow before we look at plan B..So far it looks like 3 of us...
Let`s see if it looks like it would be clear/dry for a ride at 7 AM (my start time)..If not,maybe Riverhead at around noon on Sunday..That should give Robb a coupla hours nappy time,too.Then Bear mtn next week,ok? John

actually John i got my friend tony to go, the one who has the old yamaha who you met at the dee snider run. so thats a definite 4 id say at least.

ok so as of 2pm saturday;
ME John Willie Willie's friend w the yamaha We havent heard from MDQueenz or cycledude yet? (srry i dont know anyones name) Also it hasnt rained here yet so I dont know if that means its not going to or it got pushed back or what so ill keep checking in... |

Seb-It looks like we`ll be going with plan B-Riverhead,exit 61 Exxon at 12,then out to Riverhead-
It`s 530,it just started raining-I don`t think it`ll clear out by early tomorrow morning,so we can wait until a little later,do the Riverhead show,and do Bear mtn next week.. Can you get in touch with Bob and let him know? Tnx, John

ok guys i just got in, power was out so the wife and i went to a friends for dinner, looks like the rain is really starting to kick in now so i think its not gunna dry out enough by 2marrow morning. You guys have fun @ riverhead and we'll figure something out for next weekend or maybe the weekend after...

hey guys, i have been keeping an eye on the weather channel and its not lookin good... Rain expected Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday... ill keep lookin but i think the 14th might end up being bust too.
