Official Bear Mt. thread

im thinking the LI guys can meet at the State Police barracks pulloff on the Southern State Pkwy., b/w exits 15 and 14 (or 13?).........on the west bound side, opposite of where we met up last time...........not sure where you Queens guys want to meet, any suggestions?

I know a couple of you guys have been up there before, so feel free to take the lead..........im not sure which way you want to go.........i was thinking the Palisades Pkwy.......a guy i work with lives right off of it in Teaneck.......this way we can meet him on the way...........i dont know much about the Bear Mountain area so whoever does let me know...........

Robb, i suggest we take route 9W all the way up, it's a nice ride and in my opinion nicer than being on the parkway.

As for a meeting site for the Queens guys, why not the Cunningham Park parking lot right off of the Clearview?

or maybe the bayside marina pull off on the Cross Island Pkwy. (b/w Northern Blvd. and Bell Blvd.) right before the Throgs Neck Bridge...........

That's also a good idea, although i kinda hate that you have to merge onto oncoming traffic without a merging lane. But if you guys prefer it, it's fine by me.

i cant figure out how to post a map pic like mdqueenz, but i literally live about 5/8 min north of B.mtn, so i will meet you guys further south wherever you want, otherwise it would be a pretty short trip for me. lol, if you have any ideas ill go with what you think...

im not too familiar with the area, maybe somebody else has an idea for where you can meet us.........im not sure how far south you would want to go........

honestly ill go all the way to your start point (maybe) depending on what time you plan on leaving in the morning, then ill just ride up and stay here,when were done. Whatever the route, i just wanna go for a ride.

Robb-Just as you cross the Throgs Neck Bridge there is an immediate pull-off about a hundred feet past the toll booths,just go through the last booths on the right.There`s plenty of space,and it has a get-on ramp about a hundred yards after that.I`ve met up there on several rides and it`s handy and safe..

Sounds like a good place to meet. Maybe we should pick a time and have all the City and Long Island people meet there.

JMO, but i think it would be easier to just meet at the marina off of the Cross Island Pkwy., i think most, if not all, of us have to pass by there anyway..........just my opinion tho........
