Default Tuesday October 7th Central Ohio Ride

I'm going on a 150 +/- mile ride on Tuesday to run the gas out of my tank prior to having a new tank installed at the dealer on Wednesday. (The original tank has a small factory blemish.)

I'll be heading out from Centerburg/ Mt. Vernon around mid-morning. I need to be back at Mid-Ohio Kawasaki in Mt. V by 3:00 PM. I'm thinking about taking Rt. 62 into Amish country (Berlin) and then back.

Any takers?

I wish I had time to. I used to live over in the Berlin area for a while. Watch out for all the horse crap on the road. And if swapping out the tanks takes more than an hour they are goofing off. Realistically they could have it done in a half hour.

I'll take a rain check Pat. The dealer is also installing the Scootworks pully, ISO grips, and doing the 600 mile service. So I'd say more like three hours.

Yeah you're right on that. Mid Ohio has done well for me, but I do most of the stuff my self. I let them do the 600 mile check up and 15K valve adjustments too. But let them put a tire on and ouch! 60 bucks in labor charges. Going to start doing that my self too.

Did you buy the pulley that has been sitting in the display case by the parts desk or order your own? I hope you plan on keeping the stock pulley and not let them.

If you're normally off during the week there may be a day left this year we can hook up? Only reason I can't today is I have soooo much yard work to get done before the rain hits. I haven't mowed in 3 weeks. Still have limbs everywhere. Have to work tomorrow and it'll be nasty Thursday then work all weekend. Supposed to have a school at work monday thru wednesday next week. Only get thursday off.... busy week and a half.

Enjoy the ride!

I understand. It took me days to clean up from the hurricane and still not done. We'll try again.

I bought a pulley they had in stock. It is new in a Scootworks bag but I don't know how old it is. A couple of weeks ago I asked about how to tell the newer pulleys from an old one but didn't get any reply. I've read that some of the older ones develop a chirp and that Scootworks resolved this. I will ask for the stock pulley back. The pulley in the display case is what caught my eye but they pulled one out of inventory for me.

I try to do most of my own work also, but in this case I needed to have the tank replaced under warranty and I also wanted them to do the 600 mile service (even though I have already done one oil change myself) so that there is no fudge room in case something major happens later on. I have six years worth of factory warranty. Anyway I figured while it was in there I'd have them install the pulley and grips. I've been installing mods like crazy and frankly, I'm ready to ride while the weather is still good. I've had enough shop time to last me for a while.

They told me just keep your reciepts for all the work you do yourself. I did the 6 year warrenty too. I got one of the first pulleys and yes, when its really cold it will chirp just a bit, but then it goes away.

If you're up in millersburg take 83 back to 36 in coshoction. nice scenery and a few twisties south of clarke.
