It's exciting to see some already on the road having started their journey. I wish you all a safe trip.
Perry...it'll be great to see you again! Hopefully the GPS problems won't take you too far off course and you ride right past Red Lodge. |

Well, after the magical powers of being packed in the hard bags for a day, my GPS decided it wanted to join the fun. I hit the power button and shazam, it works. Looks like I'll be riding thru rain in Sioux Falls area, guess I'll see how the rain gear works. Oh, it never did rain last night but I'm glad I stopped anyway, why can't weatherman ever get it right? I had some decent pizza last night for dinner, I'm used to Chicago pizza, than went for a nice swim and then a relaxing hot tub. The hotel has a really nice breakfast, can't beat free right, so that should get me going very nicely today. I'll be heading for the Black Hills today, really just playing it all by ear, since I have time this trip. Well, gotta go, the road is calling

Maybe go pick up a new battery? If you have a local battery plus or something equivalent they can sell you a battery that will work for prob around 60 to 80 bucks. Or you local auto store or even sorry to say, walmart.
I am sure the guy you bought the bike from would be able to help youp as well. But a bike shop with customers waiting for their bike make it a bit more difficult.

Annie is working on getting the battery compartment open...Hopefully, this won't take too long...because it does have to charge...it just makes it nerve wracking to shut it off after running it...you know?

How long since it was last started? Has it been a while or did it die kind of quickly?

If you can afford it, I would seriously consider replacing the battery if it's only been sitting there for a few days. It could be on it's last legs... Better to get it taken care of before you head out than at a gas station in the middle of the desert. You might have to sell some of those snacks to pay for it though!
