All this talk of people leaving has seriously put a crimp in my procrastination efforts! Seeing all of these posts, I went out last week and get some work done on my bike. I changed the oil and checked all the fluids. Last night I washed it down and started polishing everything I could. Today I went out and bought a power receptacle so I can charge my phone and MP3 player. I will probably wire that in tonight or tomorrow morning. And Sunday is looking like the day to test ride the bike loaded down with gear (I have never ridden this one loaded up yet). So thanks a lot guys... I had all this stuff that I had planned to put off until the Wednesday before RL, and you guys ruined it!!!

Anyways, I look forward to meeting you all soon. This should be a blast!

same here stick...I have some business I need to take care of....I only have Sunday off, and we're leaving on Tuesday late afternoon....I need to pack, and just get all those extras put together like, shampoo, toothpaste, batteries, chargers, etc....The bike could also use a bath, but it's 110 right now..not going to happen...

First night then is in Sioux Falls, SD. My second night will most likely be in the Black hills/Rapid city area, so I can ride around that area more. The third day will be a little more of that area in the A.M. then onto Buffalo/Sheridan Area for the night. Friday, is the short trip to into Red Lodge. Thats the general plan as of tonight anyway.

First day is the longest at 550 to 600 miles
Second day is shorter at about 350 miles
Third day is 210, plus sight seeing.
Fourth day is 210 into Red Lodge

Anyone In the black hills next week, I work 9 to 5 monday thru thursday, gimmie a call we can do custer, black hills, etc. there is a road that goes from Mount Rushmore that has 3 single car (honk first to make sure no head on collision) tunnels, 3 pigtails and takes you to custer state park. Gimmie a /msg and I will give you my cell phone. have a 1 car garage and hand tools, but if you get into to much trouble, I know a first rate mechanic that works for less than he's worth. I know the local landscape pretty well.

Normally, yes, but it's monsoon season, so it's around 110 and 25% humidity.

3 more sleeps for us!

Well it's getting close for me now. I washed the bike today, not that it will matter since it will be bug splattered shortly. Started getting some stuff packed in the hard bags, all that's really left to do is pack clothes tomorrow and get everything on the bike.

I really didn't see a lot of sense in washing and waxing and then running a 1,000 miles, but am hoping the fresh wax will keep the bugs from sticking hard to the paint.

We are in a holding pattern here, everything is ready to load on the bikes, just waiting for Tuesday evening to load them up.

We're 95% packed and waiting for departure around 4pm Wednesday.

Not packed yet but I'm accumulating a pile. I got my highway pegs attached on Friday and got the Vista Cruise on Saturday. Might go for a little aclimation ride with these so my first use isn't the day of the trip. Monday I have to take the cage to work (switching a rental for my currently in-the-shop van) so Tuesday's my only commuting day before I pull out on Wednesday.

We'll leave here this Thursday and head to Missoula and meet up with others for the final leg to Red Lodge on Friday.

1. Have to change oil & filter
2. Check fluids
3. Fill tank with gas
4. Turn key on, start engine and ride

See you all very soon!

Dawn, I believe it's about 200 miles. We're stopping there overnight and meeting up with several others to head out Friday morning to RL which is about 360 miles from Missoula. It's a nice way to break it up so it's not such a long ride for most.

I will be heading out from work about 1PM on Wed for Albion, Wa to meet up with 2WheelFun and the gang. Should be about 300 miles. Today I repacked my saddlebags, aired the tires, washed the bike, and check fluids, etc. I won't finish packing till Tues. night. I have some projects at work that I have to get completed before I leave so I will be able to forget that place once I depart. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone!
